The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for leading and inspiring the housekeeping team to deliver a consistently clean, safe, and welcoming environment for every guest. This role oversees all aspects of housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry services, inventory and supply management, and team leadership.

As a hands-on leader, you will ensure brand standards are consistently upheld, operational schedules are executed efficiently, and cleanliness and presentation exceed guest expectations. With a strong focus on service excellence, you will play a key role in enhancing the guest experience by embodying our company purpose: “Hospitality from our family to yours.”

  • Manual dexterity required to operate phones, computers, tablets, and housekeeping equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while managing multiple demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily property inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance standards are consistently met.

  • Inspect completed guest rooms to verify quality, brand standards compliance, and readiness for guest arrival.

  • Implement and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspection programs to uphold company and brand cleanliness standards.

  • Prepare, reconcile, and communicate the Daily Suite Report, ensuring room status accuracy and alignment with housekeeping productivity.

  • Assign guest rooms and daily responsibilities to housekeeping team members at the beginning of each shift.

  • Receive, prioritize, and delegate special guest requests, including early check-ins, late checkouts, amenity deliveries, and other service-related needs.

  • Ensure housekeeping carts are fully stocked, organized, and maintained throughout each shift.

  • Identify maintenance concerns and promptly submit work orders to ensure timely resolution.

  • Collaborate closely with the Front Office to provide accurate room status updates and support efficient room turnover.

  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and train housekeeping team members to support operational excellence.

  • Develop staff schedules based on occupancy forecasts while monitoring attendance and labor productivity.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, training, and development opportunities.

  • Ensure all team members maintain a professional appearance, including proper uniforms, grooming standards, and name tags.

  • Supervise housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet company cleanliness and quality standards.

  • Conduct monthly inventories of linens, cleaning supplies, chemicals, and guest room amenities.

  • Prepare purchase requisitions and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support daily operations.

  • Monitor supply consumption and labor costs to ensure departmental budget goals are achieved.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to emails, voicemail messages, guest concerns, and service requests.

  • Partner with Maintenance, Front Office, and other departments to resolve operational and guest service issues efficiently.

  • Maintain clear, professional, and effective communication with team members and hotel leadership.

  • Adhere to company procedures for documenting, storing, and returning lost-and-found items.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, key control procedures, security measures, and confidentiality policies.

  • Foster a safe work environment by reporting unsafe conditions, workplace injuries, accidents, and incidents promptly.

  • Complete all required safety training, certifications, and compliance programs.

  • Provide exceptional guest service by greeting guests warmly and professionally whenever possible.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company standards.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support evolving business needs and operational requirements.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, including guest room cleaning standards, laundry processes, inventory management, and quality assurance practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead diverse teams and interact professionally with guests, associates, and management.

  • Proficiency in using smartphones, computers, and property management or hotel operating systems for scheduling, reporting, and communication.

  • Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable to established performance and cleanliness standards.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, based on business demands.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
