Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is seeking a passionate and service-oriented Sandpiper Barista to create an exceptional café experience for our members and guests. This position is responsible for preparing and serving handcrafted coffee beverages, teas, smoothies, and light café offerings while delivering personalized service in a welcoming environment. The Sandpiper Barista maintains the highest standards of beverage quality, cleanliness, food safety, and presentation, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable experience that reflects the Club's commitment to excellence.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Welcome members and guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
  • Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu offerings, ingredients, allergens, and daily specials.
  • Accurately process member charges, cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment using the point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked café, beverage stations, display cases, and service areas throughout each shift.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work assignments, including equipment setup, cleaning, restocking, and inventory rotation.
  • Ensure all food and beverage products are stored, labeled, and handled in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor product quality and presentation to ensure consistency with Club standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts, receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and notifying management of product needs.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings, required training sessions, safety courses, and departmental meetings.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards promptly.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and professionalism at all times.
  • Support fellow Food & Beverage team members and assist other outlets as business needs require.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English sufficiently to communicate effectively with members, guests, and coworkers.
Experience
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a barista, café attendant, food and beverage attendant, or in a hospitality environment preferred.
  • Experience preparing specialty coffee beverages and operating espresso equipment preferred.
  • Previous luxury hospitality, private club, or resort experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso equipment operation.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
  • Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate espresso machines, blenders, and other café equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced indoor café environment while maintaining high service standards.
Schedule

Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including:

  • Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Overtime as business needs require
