***This role is based at one of our corporate offices in Dallas, TX preferred, but open to remote***

This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that’s creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Principal Solutions Architect, Property, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Software Engineering Property Platform team, reporting to the Vice President of Property Software Engineering, you will work with application teams to build cohesive solutions spanning our Property Management Systems and internal applications designed for team members to review, configure, and manage the Hilton Commercial Engine.

Requirements

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Conduct research to deliver reference architectures and develop proof-of-concepts.
  • Deliver documentation, including class diagrams, data models, business domain models, sequence diagrams, use case models, and collaboration diagrams.
  • Facilitate architecture decisions and enforce Enterprise Architecture standards and principles.
  • Lead and help shape the future of Hilton's cloud-based property architecture, becoming a subject matter expert in the property domain.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies. Develop and communicate a clear technical vision for Property management system architecture.

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Work with product teams to define and document the solution architecture and approach for new products and features.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architecture Team to provide guidance and technology direction for proposed enterprise solutions and advise on new off-the-shelf products etc.
  • Collaborate with vendors to guide and recommend hardware and software specifications, solutions, and strategies.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • Propose and develop cross-platform solutions that empower new feature capabilities and lead enterprise initiatives across all our property channels.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Seven (7) years of proven experience in software architecture and design
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience guiding and motivating development teams
  • Five (5) years of hands-on experience in application development
  • Expertise in cloud computing platform (AWS) with a focus on cloud-native architecture
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing microservices, utilizing containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and have knowledge of serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda)
  • Experience designing architectures for IoT solutions
  • Technical proficiency in both server-side (e.g., Node.js, Spring Boot) and client-side technologies (e.g., React, Angular)
  • Travel up to 25%

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience 
  • Twelve (12) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in application development or architecture of on-property applications, property technologies or equivalent
