Job Summary

The Sr. Manager, Entertainment & Experiential, W Hotels is an integral member of the W Hotels Brand Marketing team, part of Marriott International’s Luxury Group, and reports directly to the Senior Director, Global Brand Marketing, W Hotels. 

This role will focus on developing an entertainment, programming, and activations strategy for W Hotels to execute locally. This will include working closely with property marketing leaders, area teams and agencies to establish networks with high-profile brand partners and clientele to create non-traditional selling and Public Relations events that generate high revenues for properties. This role will be responsible for creating experiences that represent and enhance the W Hotels brand presence and create awareness, understanding and interest for the brand. This role will collaborate with continent, and property marketing and sales leaders to implement the brand’s culture strategy and establish a cohesive brand initiatives process. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining high levels of exposure for priority properties and for developing and leveraging local networks and relationships to bring the right business to our properties including bars, nightclub venues, restaurants, and event spaces. This individual will be focused on enhancing and building long-term, value-based brand collaborator relationships and will be responsible for being in-the-know and connected with relevant brands, influencers, and key persons in various industries that are relevant for the W Hotels customer. 

This position requires a self-motivated professional who is an experienced strategic marketer, possesses strong project management skills and has a passion for working with partners, marketing, and event management. This position works with diverse work teams comprised of Marriott associates and agencies to ensure successful execution of new or on-going programs.

Candidate Profile 

Education and Experience Required

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in the entertainment marketing, events management or restaurants and bars marketing, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

 OR

  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in of relevant professional experience in the entertainment marketing, events management or restaurants and bars marketing, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.

Core Work Activities 

Collaborations & Experiential Expertise  
  • Develops programming and activations strategy for W Hotels to execute locally.
  • Assists and develops frameworks for property marketing leaders to execute against a comprehensive Restaurant, Bar and Entertainment program leveraging knowledge of fashion, beverage culture and entertainment concepts to create a memorable and unique customer experience.
  • Assists and develops pre-opening sales and marketing goals and strategies, business positioning for experiential, events, and collaborations in local markets. 
  • Assists property leaders in developing experiential marketing and public relations (PR) goals and strategies that maximize revenues and market penetration and are consistent with the brand business strategy and in tandem with the Director, Brand Marketing US & Canada 
  • Assesses market position and recommends product and service needs and changes necessary to meet marketing objectives consistent with brand goals.
  • Designs and creates public relations events on property with our target audience to ensure we stay top of mind and create awareness with the help of influencers in the market to reach the wider net of our audience.
  • Develops and implements experiential marketing policies, plans and procedures.
  • Assists in establishing and implementing experiential and retail partnerships in collaboration with Global Partnerships 
  • Creates an atmosphere that represents and enhances the W Hotels brand presence.

  • Updates stakeholders on key initiative wins and opportunities, responds to concerns, and solicits feedback. 
  • Engages leadership and execute action plans to address gaps when appropriate.
