SUMMARY
The Slot Attendant is responsible for instructing guests in playing slots, instructing guests in placing sports wagers on the sports wagering self-serve kiosks, positioning vacant, nonfixed slot seating as close to the slot machine as possible and fixing minor paper and machine problems with slots and self-serve sports wagering kiosks. Candidate will render hand pays and Jackpots to guests in accordance with the internal controls.

  • Candidate is responsible for providing excellent service to customers and ensuring their gaming experience exceeds expectations
  • Candidate is responsible for handling customer complaints and disputes as they arise and will involve their supervisor when appropriate.
  • Candidate is responsible to ensure that all jackpot transactions are completed accurately, jackpot slips and payment procedures are in compliance with departmental internal controls and are completed within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Candidate is responsible for resolving slot and sport kiosk related issues such as paper jams, paper fills, tilts, etc in accordance with internal controls and Indiana Gaming Commission regulations.
  • Through company training candidate must be familiar with, and have a working knowledge of, the operations and paytables of the slot machines and self-serve sports wagering kiosks.
  • Candidate will ensure gaming floor is kept tidy by pushing chairs back into place while on the casino floor.
  • Candidate will monitor gaming floor video programing and make adjustments as necessary to maintain adequate sports coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 
Must be at least age 21 years of age. Candidate must be 100% customer service focused, possess good interpersonal skills, & be able to work in a fast paced & demanding environment. Hours vary & must be able to work all shifts – nights, weekends, & holidays. Must become knowledgeable about how all games are played. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Slot experience preferred.

LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATH ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess intermediate PC skills. Microsoft Office experience required.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is loud when on the casino floor. The employee will be exposed to smoke while on the casino floor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee will be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to talk and hear in order to ensure proper communication. This job requires strong vision skills, including close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

The official groundbreaking ceremony for Terre Haute Casino Resort took place on June 21, 2022, and the full casino and entertainment resort is anticipated to open in early 2024.

Once completed, our $290 million Terre Haute Casino Resort will feature 1,000 slot machines; 35 table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker tables; a 122-room luxury hotel with pool; a state-of-the-art TwinSpires Sports Book; and 3 restaurants and 2 bars.

Our casino resort will create approximately 500 jobs with a mix of full-time and part-time employees.
