Description

Overview: A Kolter Hospitality Chief Engineer delivers service excellence and maintains a positive guest experience by maintaining the overall operation of the maintenance department. This position is responsible for supervision of hotel maintenance including preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.

Performance Expectations: 

  1. Inspect and monitor the building, equipment and grounds to determine maintenance and preventative maintenance requirements.
  2. Responds and resolve engineering service requests in courteous, efficient manner.
  3. Develops work procedures and assigns staff to ensure the best service and productivity.
  4. Prepare and submit cost estimates and repair options including, suggestions as to feasibility, logical solution and actual needs of a departmental maintenance request.
  5. Contacts contractors or craftsmen for bid proposals.
  6. Hire and Train all maintenance engineers
  7. Monitor payroll and productivity of department to meet forecast and budget
  8. Keep a pulse on purchase requests, expenses and utility consumption.
  9. Contacts vendors, suppliers and equipment technical support departments to ensure best prices, quality and warranties for purchases made.
  10. Keeps records of work accomplished, operating statistics, costs, utilities and preventative maintenance.
  11. Directs all emergency programs including equipment maintenance, inspections, staff training, practice drills and compliance with all codes and regulations.
  12. Ensures periodic tests are performed on Fire Alarm/Life Safety System.
  13. Ensures staff is trained in emergency procedures.
  14. Maintains engineering work area in an orderly and clean fashion
  15. Establishes standards and procedures for engineering staff.
  16. Follows proper lost and found procedures for guest items left behind.
  17. Follow all safety procedures while working.

Qualifications

General Requirements:

Able to work most weekends and holidays. 

Report to work on time and in proper uniform.

Experience: Three (3) plus years of experience and knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and building maintenance preferred.

Education: None. 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours.

Occasional lifting, pushing and pulling (up to 35lbs)
