Parking Attendant

Job Summary

To welcome guests and monitors the parking area to provide a safe environment for guests to minimize opportunities for loss or damage.

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

• Manage access to the parking lot
• Work efficiently to direct large flows of traffic
• Greet customers and help them take items to their cars; direct cars when need.
• Ensure that guests needs are exceeded.
• Interact and effectively communicate with visitors and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of the hotel's parking facility.
• Assist guests with unloading and loading their vehicles.

• Issue tickets to individuals entering the parking facility and collecting parking fees from those leaving the facility
• Greet and assist guests by opening doors, directing them to the nearest open parking spots and helping them to exit vehicles and the parking facility when needed
• Park and return vehicles for guests during valet service hours while respecting guest property and safely driving the vehicles
• Provide customer service and information upon request, including answering general questions about the parking fees and facility, giving directions and supplying maps of the area
• Observe security monitors to ensure no criminal activity occurs and report any activity to the proper authorities as needed
• Maintain a clean environment by sweeping up parking areas and picking up any refuse left in the facility
• Perform maintenance to barrier systems if needed or report issues to the proper maintenance staff

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• High school diploma
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record
• Skills in driving vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Previous parking lot service experience
• Work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays

Physical Demands

• Position requires standing and walking for long periods of time and performing physical duties including lifting.
• Occasional twisting, bending, stooping and reaching
• Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
