Retail Store Department Head 62010

Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.), Hire and train or arrange for training of staff, Establish work schedules, Sell merchandise, Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages, Organize and maintain inventory, Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Wage: $81,900.00 per year

Located on the north end of Repulse Bay, Naujaat is home to the Aivilingmiut people, direct descendants of the ancient Thule people, who are renowned for their dog teams and walrus hunting skills. Naujaat is Inuktitut for “seagull resting place”, named after a nearby cliff where newborn seagulls hatch each June. Today, Naujaat is known for its thriving Arctic wildlife, along with it being the closest community to Ukkusiksalik National Park – a site rich with archaeological sites dating back to 1000 AD. Naujaat is home to 1,075 residents (according to Statistics Canada’s 2016 Census) who speak Inuktitut and English, and can only be reached through air, via Naujaat Airport (formerly known as Repulse Bay Airport).
