Job Summary

We are seeking an individual who can provide support to our Purchasing team and our entire Hotel through the coordination of our in-house storerooms. To be successful in the role, organizational acumen will be essential, as well as a detail-oriented eye and strong communication ability.

Job Duties

  • Receive and stage merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in hotel, and deliver merchandise to appropriate department.
  • Stack received merchandise on pallets or carts.
  • Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
  • Inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality throughout case lots.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
  • Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.
  • Examine all incoming items for defects and note defects on invoice or bill of lading before driver leaves.
  • Verify all incoming items by physical count versus invoice or bill of lading, note shortages and/or items refused on invoice or bill of lading; sign invoice and send to Accounting Department.
  • Weigh all items which are priced by the pound (catch weight items) to verify invoice accuracy; note discrepancies on invoice/bill of leading, and take credit on same where applicable.
  • Store all nonfood items in the dry storage room; assist with issuing supplies from this area.
  • Deliver all items to appropriate department office, including office supplies.
  • Assist in the food store room with storage and issuing of food products.
  • Pack products for return to vendor and fill out proper paperwork.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Strong math skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, guests etc.

  • Can communicate well with guests, supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. 

Physical Requirements

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors, temperature can be very hot with or without control of environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to maneuver between stations and areas efficiently and easily.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires manual dexterity. 
  • Must be flexible to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays if assigned.
