Aloft San Jose Cupertino is currently looking for a for a part-time PM Food Prep (Saturdays and Sundays) to join our team. As a Food Prep, you’ll be responsible for preparing food using recipes and menu items and plating dishes according to our standard recipes.
Some of their key duties and responsibilities include:
- Setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards
- Ensure the preparation station and kitchen are set up and stocked
- Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Plating prepared foods based on guidance
- Wash and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensure the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
- ServSafe certified preferred
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary exp. preferred
- 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort
- Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Prior experience as cook required
