THE ROLE:

As a Steward/Dishwasher at Park Hyatt Chicago, you will be an essential member of the operations team, ensuring the heart of our culinary environment remains impeccably clean, organized, and efficient. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, you will be responsible for the meticulous cleaning and sanitization of all kitchenware, equipment, and back-of-house areas, while also assisting in the transport of food and supplies to support the seamless flow of operations. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a dedication to maintaining the highest hygiene standards, and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. WAGE INFORMATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $26.50. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in stewarding, ideally within a luxury hotel, fine dining, or high-end culinary environment. Proven ability to thrive in high-volume settings while maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proactive approach to supporting back-of-house operations. Familiarity with professional-grade cleaning equipment and food safety standards is highly valued.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization throughout all kitchen and dishwashing areas, ensuring all hygiene and sanitation protocols are met without exception.
  • Work Ethic: Demonstrates reliability, discretion, and a consistent drive for excellence. Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities with pride and precision.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in warm, humid environments.
  • Team Collaboration: Works seamlessly with culinary and stewarding teams to ensure operational fluidity and mutual support during service. Embodies a team-first mentality in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Professionalism: Maintains a polished, respectful demeanor, and calm under pressure—reflecting the elevated standards of Park Hyatt Chicago.
  • Availability: Flexible scheduling availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the dynamic needs of a luxury hospitality operation.
