Job Description

The Area Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations across three boutique hotel properties—Dauphine Orleans, Audubon Cottages, and French Quarter Courtyard. This role ensures that each property is safe, fully operational, and consistently maintained to brand, ownership, and regulatory standards while supporting an exceptional guest experience.

The Area Maintenance Manager has full accountability for the physical building structures, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life-safety systems, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes, legally mandated safety requirements, and energy conservation standards. This position balances strategic planning with hands-on leadership, managing daily operational needs while protecting long-term asset value through preventive maintenance programs and capital planning.

In partnership with hotel leadership, the Area Maintenance Manager oversees budgets, preventive maintenance initiatives, and energy conservation efforts, while directing and coordinating all engineering activities across multiple locations. Additional responsibilities include training, mentoring, scheduling, and developing engineering team members, managing third-party vendors, and ensuring consistent execution of maintenance standards across the portfolio. The ideal candidate is an organized, solutions-oriented leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, multi-property environment.

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements: Five years experience a Chief Engineer or facilities engineer in a Hospitality related environment. Extensive knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and safety operating systems. Knowledge in OSHA regulations, National, State and Local building regulations and codes, equipment operations and preventive maintenance procedures. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.   You must be able to pass a thorough background check as well as be drug free.
