Sitting on a quiet tree-lined street in Soho, twelve floors rise above the neighborhood’s storied lofts, boutiques, and galleries. The name derives from the particular manner of hospitality, one that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel — discreet, refined, generous. Our hotel has 97 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests.

Purpose Of The Role

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving private events and group business through proactive business development and strong revenue focus. This role owns the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry through execution and follow-up—ensuring seamless delivery and a high-touch client experience. Success in this role is measured by the ability to generate new business, maximize revenue, and execute events that foster repeat and long-term relationships.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Drive new events and group business through proactive prospecting and lead generation
  • Qualify and convert inquiries from all channels, including CVENT, Hyatt, and direct leads
  • Lead client engagement through site tours, presentations, and ongoing relationship management
  • Negotiate contracts and manage the full RFP process with a focus on profitable outcomes
  • Oversee events from initial inquiry through execution and final billing
  • Develop BEOs, floor plans, and event proposals in partnership with internal teams
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to ensure timely, strategic responses
  • Manage function space inventory and optimize pricing and utilization
  • Coordinate with operations, F&B, and external vendors to deliver seamless events
  • Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and hosting
  • Identify need periods and proactively drive business to support revenue goals
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and market analysis to inform strategy
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Resonsibilities And Authorities

  • Proactively develop new business through targeted outreach and sales travel
  • Qualify and convert inbound inquiries aligned with ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR goals
  • Lead site inspections and client engagements to secure high-value business
  • Execute a strategic sales plan aligned with revenue objectives
  • Represent the property at industry events to expand market presence
  • Monitor market trends and competitive positioning to inform strategy
  • Grow and manage a portfolio of high-value accounts
  • Provide clear reporting on pipeline, production, and sales activity
  • Partner with Revenue Management to ensure profitable business mix

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of experience in event, group sales, or catering within hospitality
  • Experience in New York City or a comparable market preferred
  • Strong understanding of event operations, F&B, and space optimization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills
  • Experience with Opera, CVENT, Envision, and Microsoft Office; Canva a plus
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to support events as needed

Physical:

  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 15 lbs.
  • May require extended time in a seated position
  • Must be able to move throughout the property with ease
