The Opportunity

Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV) is a tribally owned and operated enterprise. The ideal candidate would be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work on multiple tasks in a variety of businesses. The Finance System Technical Specialist will develop and maintain Workday reports, utilizing Workday Report Writer and Designer. Manage system integrations within the architecture of HR/Finance system and middleware, providing support and incident management. Configure, maintain and advise on security within Workday applications. manage system integrations, develop and maintain Workday reports. What You Get to Do

  • Develop and maintain simple to complex Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, utilizing Workday Report Writer and Report Designer.
  • Analyze, design, and build custom reports using standard Workday functionality (Report Writer, Calculated Fields, and related tools).
  • Deliver meaningful metrics, trends, KPIs, and analytical insights through Workday reporting and dashboards.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance for Workday.
  • Document report functions, data sources, logic, and design to facilitate sustainability and future maintenance.
  • Manage system integrations within the architecture of the HR/Finance system and middleware
  • Provide support for Workday inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations and well as new integrations.
  • Provide support for incident management and integration monitoring.
  • Perform routine break/fix support and regression testing and support the inbound/outbound interfaces to the system and middleware.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation and problem resolution.
  • Consult with business and technical teams about interface design and maintenance; collaborate with peers and leadership on design decisions.
  • Design and develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration tests.
  • Understand and follow Data Governance and ensure attention to data quality.
  • Understand and follow defined integration/development standards and best practices.
  • Configure, maintain and advise on security within Workday application. This includes domain security policies, roles, and role assignments.
  • Develop and maintain divisional and data security and comply with policies and procedures. This includes report review, understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards.

What Qualifies you

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a Technical Field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting/Finance or related technical discipline) or equivalent combination of training and work experience.  
  • Must be extremely literate in Software Applications with ability to identify, design, test and deploy processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Experience with Web Services and APIs (application programming interface).
  • Strong technical experience with xml and java.
  • Workday ERP and report development experience or training preferred.
  • Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).

Must Have Skills

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels and departments, both internal and external.
  • Ability to analyze processes, actively seeking feedback and improvement, in systems.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Position gives advice/direction to co-workers on a variety of accounting components specific to each individual company.
  • Displays a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment, and the ability to deal with confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and a cloud-based communication and retention system, such as Microsoft Teams.
  • ERP system understanding required.
  • Experience with designing and implementing ETL (extract, load, transform) processes.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations.
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

WorkEnvironment:

Position offers hybrid flexibility, with scheduled required days in-office to fulfill duties of the position, attend meetings and as required by management

The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is an Ojibwa tribe located in Minnesota. The tribe boasts over 4,000 tribal members. Their land-base is the Mille Lacs Indian Reservation, consisting of two reservations and nine communities defined in the tribal constitution, aggregated into three districts.
