The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is looking for individuals with upscale retail experience. These individuals will provide exceptional, unparalleled 5-Diamond customer service to the Resort Guest, the Private Club Member, and to individuals who require oceanfront excellence as their shopping backdrop.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, members, guests, and co-workers.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Retail experience helpful, but not required. Knowledgeable in customer service skills.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Experience in customer service or retail sales preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: Greet guests/members in a professional manner, assist them with their selections, ring up their selections, answer the phone and keep shop orderly and clean.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to use a telephone. Capable of moving about the Shop assisting members/ guests at a quick pace.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
  1. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts if required.
  2. Arrive to work on time, consistently.
  3. Upon entering the property, set an example and ensure staff is in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
  4. Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
  5. Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
  6. Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
  7. Actively work to greet members and guests by name, getting to know their personal preferences.
  8. Display pleasing personality to all members and guests.
  9. Greet all guests immediately and with a smile.
  10. Assist guests/members with selection of merchandise, insuring their satisfaction.
  11. Ensure that all guests and members are charged properly.
  12. Keep Inn/Surf Shop orderly and clean.
  13. Assist with maintaining the member/guest preference file, to include name, phone number, member number and personal preferences.
  14. Place custom orders for members and guests, receiving, delivering, and following up on the paperwork.
  15. Inspect all purchases when received, insuring that brand and quantity is as ordered and invoiced, and that prices are as agreed upon.
  16. Assist with presenting merchandise in an appealing manner, periodically freshened and consistently turned over stock.
  17. Maintain an atmosphere of cordiality and warmth toward guests/members.
  18. Learn and follow the Shop's security and safety standards.
  19. Handle comments of members and guests regarding merchandise quality or service and inform the Inn Shop Manager of all comments.
  20. Answer the Inn/Surf Shop phone, within 2 rings, following proper dialogue.
  21. Perform and follow up on any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Inn Shop Manager or Inn Shop Manager.

Schedule

  • Varied schedule including weekends and holidays, approximately 35-40 hours/week.
