Engineer at The iconic Abbey Resort
Compensation: $18.00 per hour, Full-Time
7am-3:30pm or 3pm-11pm

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. We aim to hire individuals who are ready and committed to exceed the expectation of every guest by genuinely creating lasting memories, maintaining a positive attitude and by providing outstanding service every time. 

BASIC FUNCTION: The Engineer will assist leadership and guests with maintenance requests, identify problems and perform various room preventative maintenance tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

One year experience in a similar job in the hospitality industry preferred.

Ability to use hand tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Resolve guests’ maintenance problems and handle all guest requests.

Perform simple preventative maintenance tasks in all guestrooms and other resort areas (i.e. change filters, replace light bulbs, repair drapery tracks.)

Complete and/or document basic work order requests.

Perform swimming pool chemical tests and make necessary corrections, with training.

Basic knowledge of EMS and life safety systems, with training.

Accurately complete daily rounds sheets and identify and report major problems.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.

Maintain professional working relationship with Grounds team

ENVIRONMENT: Works in all areas of the property, both indoors and outdoors possible in inclement weather. Must be able to work at various heights on ladders, roofs, etc.
