JOB TITLE: Spa Host

FUNCTION:

Spa Host possesses exceptional guest relations and communication skills. They maintain a working knowledge of all spa services, answer questions about the spa and its amenities and manage the spa schedule throughout the day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Spa Host is responsible for orientating guests to the spa facilities, greeting guests as they enter the facilities, and providing personal guest service.
  • Assist the attendants on keeping the lounge, locker room, fitness center and other guest areas neat, clean, and stocked with all amenities.
  • Escort guests to their lockers and issue robes and slippers.
  • Coordinate the flow of communication by answering phones, routing, and screening calls, greeting visitors, coordinating incoming and outbound mail, responding to inquiries, and providing information about the spa.
  • Ability to open and close spa, checking guest in and out of spa, keeping track of inventory for retail and professional use.
  • Help therapist turning rooms between guests and with spa laundry when needed.
  • Assist Spa Coordinators as needed with guest interactions.
  • Provide confirmation calls to clients who have scheduled services.
  • Update the reservations/cancellations list throughout the day, inform therapists of last-minute changes, and resolve scheduling issues as needed.
  • Approach and educate clients on retail recommendations and spa treatments with confidence and knowledge.
  • Recommend and up-sell services that fit the guests’ needs.
  • Help make sure the wet facilities and locker rooms are tidy and clean.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of all guest supplies and amenities within the lounges and ensure immaculate presentation of these items.
  • Escort guests between the multiple spa areas.
  • Ensures complete guest satisfaction.
  • Appropriately utilize reservation systems, maintenance records, and guest experience database as vehicles of communication to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism; accommodate special requests whenever possible; resolve

customer complaints; assist customers in all inquiries in connection with Spa services.

  • Contribute to the security of the spa facility by monitoring the access of guests and escorting them to treatment areas.
  • Dispose of trash; bring dirty linens to the proper area for laundering; and stock towels, linens, supplies and amenities in area as needed.
  • Attend all meetings and training required of your department or the company in general.
  • Ensure compliance of daily opening/closing checklists by walking and ensuring assigned areas are well maintained, stocked, and cleaned to ensure high quality presentation and repair of all equipment.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

Skills and Specifications

  • Punctuality, professionalism and be a self-starter
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications and reception area experience, particularly manning multi-line phone systems
  • Answer busy multi-line phone system in a professional manner
  • Must be well groomed in uniform or business attire.
  • Must have schedule availability to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must understand and maintain confidentiality in all circumstances.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry upwards to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including

10 key adding machines, computers, fax machines, and photo copiers.

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues
  • Work in cold & hot temperatures
  • Possibly be exposed to secondhand smoke

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior experience in retail, hospitality or salon/spa industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with salon/spa software and Microsoft office is preferred though general computer knowledge is required
  • Ability to sell and educate clients on products and treatments

GROOMING/UNIFORMS:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
