The Role

The Director of International Player Development is a dynamic, globally minded, and results-driven leader who is responsible for building, managing, and expanding a world-class international player development team that caters to the high-net-worth global gaming market.

The Director will serve as the primary architect of Bally's Chicago’s international VIP strategy, with a deep focus on cultivating high-value relationships across key international markets. This role demands an individual who possesses a sophisticated understanding of international gaming cultures, luxury hospitality standards, global protocol etiquette, and the nuanced expectations of VVIP clientele operating at the highest levels of play.

This is a revenue-generating, culture-building position that will directly shape Bally's position as a premier international gaming destination in the United States.


Responsibilities

International Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Execute a comprehensive international player development strategy designed to attract, cultivate, and retain ultra-high-net-worth players from key global source markets
  • Identify, prospect, and build direct relationships with premium international players, VIP travel agents, luxury concierge networks, and feeder market partners
  • Lead targeted international market visits, overseas player events, and global gaming conventions (G2E Asia, NIGA, etc.) to generate new VIP pipelines and strengthen existing partnerships
  • Develop and manage relationships with international representatives, agents, and sub-agents operating in key feeder markets, ensuring alignment with all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Continuously research and monitor emerging international gaming markets, geopolitical trends, currency dynamics, and competitor activity to proactively adjust strategy and maintain a competitive edge

VIP Program 

  • Architect and oversee Bally's International VIP Program, including personalized service protocols, and culturally tailored experiences that meet and exceed the expectations of an international clientele
  • Build and manage a robust top-of-funnel pipeline of new international high-value players through strategic networking, social cultivation, community engagement, and digital channel outreach
  • Oversee all international player lifecycle management, including new member onboarding, loyalty program engagement, personalized reinvestment strategies, and lapsed player reactivation
  • Design and implement culturally sensitive, market-specific player reinvestment programs, complimentary frameworks, and promotional offers that resonate with international audiences

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of International Executive Hosts and Casino Hosts with diverse language capabilities and cultural competencies aligned to Bally's target international markets
  • Establish clear individual and team performance goals, KPIs, and accountability structures that drive measurable revenue results and exceptional guest satisfaction outcomes
  • Provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance feedback to all team members; implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Foster a team culture rooted in luxury service excellence, cultural sensitivity, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to the guest experience

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Internal Partnerships

  • Serve as the primary internal advocate and subject matter expert for international player needs, collaborating closely with Marketing, Food & Beverage, Hotel, Gaming Operations, Finance, and Cage to deliver seamless, fully integrated international VIP experiences
  • Partner with Marketing to develop internationally targeted campaigns, digital outreach programs, culturally relevant promotions, and premium event initiatives across key global source markets
  • Work in close coordination with the Hotel and VIP Services teams to ensure all aspects of the international guest journey — from pre-arrival communication to post-visit follow-up — reflect the highest standards of luxury hospitality
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Cage teams to establish appropriate credit, front money, and marker programs that align with international player preferences and comply with all applicable regulations

Events, Entertainment & Cultural Engagement

  • Execute world-class international VIP events, both on-property and in key feeder markets, including premium gaming tournaments, cultural celebration events (Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Diwali, etc.), international visits, and exclusive VVIP experiences
  • Serve as Bally's Chicago's ambassador and cultural liaison within international communities throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area, building brand awareness and trust within key populations
  • Cultivate a visible presence at international cultural and community events, luxury lifestyle gatherings, and high-net-worth social networks that provide access to prospective international players

Performance Analytics & Reporting

  •  Maintain reporting framework to track international player development KPIs, including new player acquisition, theoretical and actual revenue, reinvestment ratios, trip frequency, and market share metrics
  • Deliver high-level, data-driven performance reporting and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership on a regular basis
  • Utilize player database analytics, CRM tools, and market intelligence to make informed, proactive decisions that maximize revenue and optimize the international player portfolio
  • Maintain a comprehensive competitive intelligence program, monitoring competitor international VIP offerings across regional, national, and global markets and leveraging insights to maintain and grow Bally's international wallet share

Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Ensure all international player development activities are conducted in strict compliance with Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) regulations, federal anti-money laundering (AML) laws, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, OFAC guidelines, and all applicable international gaming regulations
  • Champion responsible gaming principles within the international player development program, ensuring culturally appropriate responsible gaming resources are available and communicated effectively across all international markets
  • Perform duties and responsibilities associated with the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program
  • Establish, implement, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in alignment with regulatory requirements, company initiatives, and organizational goals


Qualifications

Required

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license issued by the Illinois Gaming Board
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in casino player development, with a significant focus on international and/or Asian VIP markets
  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience managing international player development teams, executive hosts, or VIP sales teams in a premium casino resort environment
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully cultivating and maintaining relationships with ultra-high-net-worth international players, junket operators, and feeder market partners
  • Deep expertise in baccarat and premium table game products, international gaming cultures, and the global VIP casino market landscape
  • Strong knowledge of international AML/BSA compliance requirements as they relate to casino cage operations, credit, and international player transactions
  • Exceptional public relations, hospitality, and high-touch customer service skills befitting a world-class resort property
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate confidently at the executive level both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute data-driven revenue strategies that deliver measurable results
  • Proficiency in casino management systems, CRM platforms, and player tracking/analytics tools
  • Must possess a valid passport and the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Strongly Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, International Business, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Multilingual fluency is strongly preferred — Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, or other languages aligned to Bally's target international markets
  • Established existing network of international high-value players and/or feeder market contacts across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, or Middle Eastern markets
  • Prior experience managing international programs, VIP credit programs, and front money operations
  • Experience with luxury brand standards, Forbes Travel Guide service protocols, or comparable luxury hospitality frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing large-scale, high-budget international VIP events

About Bally’s Chicago

Bally's Chicago will be located in the city's River West neighborhood on the bank of the North Branch of the Chicago River, near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street.

The first phase of the new casino hotel resort is slated to cost $1 billion. It will include 2,700 slot machines, 95 table games, a suite-only hotel, with 100 suites. There will also be an outdoor music venue with space for 1,000 people.

The subsequent expansion of Bally's Chicago is projected to provide a total of 4,000 gaming seats, a 3000 seat indoor venue, 20,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, and a new 500 room 34-tower hotel which will include a large pool spa, fitness center and sun deck, as well as a rooftop restaurant bar with a spectacular view of the Chicago skyline.

The permanent location will include a 3,000 seat theater, an extension of the Chicago Riverwalk, pedestrian bridge, six restaurants, a food hall, and room for 3,400 slots and 173 game tables.

The corporation has a plan to retrofit the former warehouse at the current Tribune plant in order to serve as a temporary casino while the casino is being built. Bally's Temporary Casino will be located at 600 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60611.

The temporary facility located at 600 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL, will initially provide 33,000 square feet of gaming space accommodating 1000 gaming patrons. There will be two bars & cocktail lounges, a food service bar and a Grab N Go Kiosk.
