Engineer / Hotel Maintenance

Purpose:

The Engineer is responsible for the effective upkeep of all engineering and maintenance operations. This person performs routine property and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, and assist in ensuring the safety of guests and associates in compliance with all corporate and brand standards and all federal, state and local laws. This role is for the third shift. 

Hourly rate: $23-$25 per hour DOE

This is a seasonal position with an anticipated end date of September 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintains, repairs, and conducts preventative maintenance on material handling and building equipment in safe and efficient manner.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/Refrigeration systems
• Clean all drains throughout the Food and Beverage areas
• Clean and maintain condensers and evaporators in all applicable areas
• Keep surrounding areas clean and well-maintained
• Power wash sidewalks and upper bar patios
• Clean the exterior of the property daily while on duty
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Work as a team member with operations and other technicians to support the facility in the repair and maintenance of equipment
• Attention to detail and focus on safety will be critical
• Provide a positive customer experience by providing clear expectations, communication, and addressing the hotel and hotel guests needs
• Ensure the efficient use of materials and parts in inventory
• Time management is essential - Must be able to adhere to committed time schedules
• Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates)
• While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear

Requirements:

• Priority will be given to candidates with 1+ years of refrigerator/sealed system experience
• HVAC, RETA, CARO, or CIRO certifications a plus!
• Must be highly organized, able to multitask and prioritize
• Must have 1 - 2 years of experience in a commercial building or hotel
• Ability to manage one’s time and duties independently
• Problem solver and proactive
• Dependable and reliable
• Hospitality experience 
• Experienced in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Drywall/Paint, IT/BAS, electric locking systems, building automation systems
• Must be able to perform under pressure
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
