Job Location: Cavalry Court Hotel / The George Hotel College Station, TX
JOB SUMMARY: Ensure guest satisfaction through properly maintained property, guest rooms, and public areas, and by responding promptly and efficiently to guest complaints and concerns. Know all fire and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary in accordance with hotel standards.
Physical abilities:
Standing/Walking: Constantly. Stairs, tile, rubber mats covering tile, linoleum, concrete, padded carpet, marble, and gravel, etc.
Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. Lifting, completing tasks performed at low levels, and putting supplies and materials away.
Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. Repairing cosmetic needs or furniture and other equipment as needed
Reaching (Overhead/extension): Frequently. Performing repairs, retrieving supplies and materials, updating the shop board
Twisting/Turning (Knees/waist/neck): Frequently. Perform cosmetics, electrical, plumbing, and other repairs.
Climbing: Frequently. Ladders, step stools, stairs, etc.
Crawling/kneeling: Frequently. Perform plumbing repairs, carpet repairs, etc.
Handling/grasping: Frequently. Occasionally. Performing repairs.
Balance: Frequently. Climbing ladders, scaffolding, stairs, carrying tools and equipment.
Pushing/Pulling: Average weight: Frequently. Equipment, carts, racks, weighing 5-100 lbs. Maximum weight: Occasionally. Equipment weighing up to 150 lbs.
Lifting/carrying: Average weight. Frequently. Equipment and supplies weighing an average of 5-50 lbs. Maximum weight: Occasionally. Equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
Working Environment:
All interior areas of the hotel.
Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & Responsabilities:
Handle complex repairs, including HVAC systems, electrical work, and plumbing issues. Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule. Performs preventive maintenance throughout the hotel and reports progress to the office Director/Manager.
Be punctual in reporting to work in the proper uniform with a name tag. Personal hygiene is required daily.
Respond to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately. Maintain rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed. Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions.
Respond to and complete all work orders promptly, closing them out as completed.
Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees, assist with training, and supervise entry-level workers as assigned by Management.
Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels as assigned by the manager.
Help maintain the overall appearance of the hotel’s public spaces and hallways to ensure a safe, clean environment. Respond to guest requests for maintenance issues. Communicate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all manageable mechanical operations and equipment, including the following areas:
Check all exterior lighting, public area lighting, and signage daily. Troubleshoot and repair electrical. This includes parking lot lights, high-rise buildings, entrance signs, pedestrian lights, corridors, lobbies, and elevators. Electrical switches, lamps, electrical receptacles, etc.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing fixtures repair and replacement, PVC pipe repair and replacement, drain clearing and repair, water heater repair, etc.
Carpentry- drywall, wallpaper, painting, caulking, tile repair, and replacement windows, doors, locks, furniture repair, etc. Paint and touch up all areas of the hotel and maintain guest rooms to perfect condition.
Assist senior maintenance staff with larger projects. Assist senior maintenance staff with repairs and installations.
Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs.
Mechanical equipment maintenance (washer, dryer, vacuum cleaners, gates, etc.)
Possess a good mechanical knowledge of how to operate and maintain all tools safely.
Keep all work areas, shop, and guest rooms neat and orderly. Keep work areas clean and organized
Have a thorough understanding of hotel fire alarm procedures and other emergencies
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards.
Attend required meetings
Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Four Years of Maintenance/engineering experience required in a hotel-related field.
Ideal Candidate must possess Strong Technical skills (CPU and IT operations) and HVAC certification.
Extensive experience in hotel maintenance, Strong leadership skills, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
An ability to work safely and confidently with unenergized circuits from 120V.
Proven organization and time management skills.
Guest focused, optimistic, self-disciplined, and a self-starter.
Problem solver, self-motivated, able to learn more skills to serve guests and the company better.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
Multi-task oriented.
Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means.
Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
Able to work on varied schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Must be able to speak and write in a language understood by the manager and/or supervisor.
Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management.
Ability to take directions from hotel and housekeeping management.
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
