General Manager Wanted: Lead and Elevate a Beachfront Lifestyle Resort Built on Conservation, Adventure, and Exceptional Hospitality
Compensation: $85,000 to $105,000 per year plus bonus, Full-Time

Guy Harvey Resort – St. Augustine Beach, Florida

St. Augustine Resorts, Inc. is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven General Manager for the Guy Harvey Resort in St. Augustine Beach, Florida.

This is not a caretaker position. We are looking for a true full-service hotel operator who can elevate the entire property, strengthen the guest experience, lead the team with confidence, and bring renewed operational discipline to one of Florida’s most recognizable beachfront lifestyle resorts.

The Guy Harvey Resort brand is built around four core pillars:

Conservation. Education. Adventure. Arts.

The right candidate must understand that this property is more than a hotel on the beach. It is a branded resort experience connected to the ocean, the local community, environmental stewardship, outdoor adventure, and the artwork and legacy of Dr. Guy Harvey.

Position Overview

The General Manager will be responsible for the full operational, financial, cultural, and guest-service performance of the resort. This individual must be hands-on, highly visible, financially disciplined, and capable of leading both rooms and food-and-beverage operations at a high level.

We are especially interested in candidates with a strong food-and-beverage background who understand how to build local relevance, improve outlet performance, manage cost controls, elevate service, and create a consistent guest experience across the entire property.

Key Responsibilities

The General Manager will be expected to:

  • Lead the resort as a true full-service operator, with direct accountability for rooms, food and beverage, sales, marketing, maintenance, housekeeping, guest service, and financial performance.
  • Elevate the overall guest experience through visible leadership, service training, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Strengthen the resort’s food-and-beverage operation, including restaurant performance, bar execution, banquet/catering opportunities, cost controls, menu positioning, service standards, and local market appeal.
  • Align the property with the Guy Harvey Resort brand pillars of Conservation, Education, Adventure, and Arts.
  • Build a proactive management culture rather than a reactive operating environment.
  • Improve associate engagement, accountability, training, and retention.
  • Drive revenue through strong sales leadership, local partnerships, transient optimization, group opportunities, and F&B activation.
  • Maintain strong brand standards while allowing the property to reflect the charm and personality of St. Augustine Beach.
  • Manage expenses with discipline while protecting the guest and associate experience.
  • Ensure excellence in cleanliness, maintenance, safety, service delivery, and product consistency.
  • Develop strong relationships with ownership, corporate leadership, community partners, vendors, and the local tourism market.
  • Provide clear reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational communication to ownership and executive leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be:

  • A proven hotel General Manager or senior full-service hotel operator.
  • Experienced in beachfront, resort, lifestyle, independent, or upper-upscale hotel environments.
  • Strong in food and beverage operations, not merely familiar with them.
  • Financially literate, with experience managing budgets, labor, cost controls, forecasting, and departmental profitability.
  • Guest-experience focused and service driven.
  • Comfortable being highly visible with guests, associates, ownership, and the local community.
  • Capable of developing department heads and holding them accountable.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to anticipate problems before they become operational failures.
  • Passionate about hospitality, coastal lifestyle, environmental stewardship, and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Aligned with a brand that values conservation, education, adventure, and the arts.

Required Experience

  • Prior hotel General Manager experience strongly preferred.
  • Significant full-service hotel or resort leadership experience required.
  • Strong food-and-beverage operating experience required.
  • Experience with independent, boutique, lifestyle, or resort properties preferred.
  • Proven success improving guest satisfaction, associate culture, revenue performance, and operational controls.
  • Strong understanding of rooms operations, revenue management, sales, housekeeping, engineering, and F&B.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, financial, and organizational skills.

About the Resort

Guy Harvey Resort St. Augustine Beach is a beachfront resort located on one of Florida’s most historic and desirable coastal destinations. The property combines beachside relaxation, outdoor adventure, local flavor, and the Guy Harvey brand’s commitment to ocean conservation, education, adventure, and art.

This is an opportunity for a strong operator to lead a meaningful resort asset, build a winning team, and elevate the property into a more disciplined, profitable, and memorable guest experience.

Compensation

Competitive compensation package based on experience, including performance-based incentives.

To Apply

Qualified candidates should submit a resume and a brief cover letter outlining their experience in full-service hotel leadership and food-and-beverage operations.
