Seeking a reliable individual who enjoys working in a team environment to join our team as a Maintenance/Engineering Supervisor. The right candidate can assist in the physical functionality and safety of the hotel, including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public areas and employee areas. As well as the administration of the division by preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records and other documentation to ensure a smooth operation and minimize liabilities.

Who you will be working with

  • Team Leadership & Scheduling - Supervise, train, and support engineering staff; assign daily tasks and manage shift coverage
  • Preventive Maintenance - Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical systems
  • Systems Oversight - Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, boilers, chillers, and life-safety systems
  • Work Order Management - Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments, ensuring timely resolution
  • Guest Satisfaction - Address guest concerns related to room conditions or facility issues with professionalism and urgency
  • Safety & Compliance - Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, fire codes, and local building regulations
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination - Schedule and supervise outside vendors for inspections, repairs, and specialized services
  • Inventory & Cost Control - Manage tools, supplies, and parts inventory; assist in controlling departmental expenses
  • Emergency Response - Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including location of all emergency shut offs. Act as a key responder for equipment failures, power outages, and emergency situations.
  • Property Maintenance - Ensure hotel appearance and functionality meet brand standards across all areas. Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Director of Engineering in his/her absence.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

  • 3–5+ years of consecutive years of employment of maintenance or engineering experience (hotel or hospitality preferred)
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience required
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Strong understanding of the technologies used and required.
  • React quickly in emergency situations, making sound decisions.
  • Relevant certifications (HVAC, EPA, electrical) preferred
  • Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Able to operate safely & responsibly heavy machinery.
  • Saflok knowledge a plus

Work Environment

  • Availability to work all shifts, also must be able to work holidays and weekends.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of the Building Management/Engineering profession. This includes experiential knowledge required for the management of people and complex problems.

Education:

  • Degree a plus. Combination of vocational education, apprenticeship, in-plant training, or on-the-job training required.
