JOB SUMMARY

The Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment for all hotel guests. This role supports guest satisfaction by maintaining pool areas, monitoring safety, and providing friendly, attentive service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications.  The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future.  The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

  • Guest Assistance — Greet guests, provide towels, answer questions about pool amenities, and ensure a positive guest experience.

  • Safety Monitoring — Observe pool activity, enforce pool rules, and report any unsafe behavior or hazards to management.

  • Area Cleanliness — Maintain cleanliness of pool deck, furniture, restrooms, and surrounding areas; remove trash; wipe down surfaces.

  • Towel Management — Stock, fold, and organize towels; manage towel returns and inventory.

  • Pool Equipment Oversight — Ensure umbrellas, chairs, and pool equipment are clean, functional, and properly arranged.

  • Water Quality Checks — Assist with basic water testing or report issues to engineering/maintenance.

  • Guest Safety Support — Respond to minor guest needs and escalate emergencies to trained personnel immediately.

  • Policy Enforcement — Ensure guests follow pool rules, including safety, hygiene, and occupancy guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Customer Service Skills — Friendly, approachable, and guest‑focused.

  • Communication Skills — Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Prior hospitality or recreation experience preferred but not required.

  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (towels, umbrellas, pool furniture).

  • Frequent walking, bending, and standing.

  • Comfortable working in heat, humidity, and outdoor environments.

Work Environment

  • Outdoor pool area with regular guest interaction.

  • Fast‑paced, guest‑service‑oriented setting.

  • May require weekends, holidays, and evening shifts depending on hotel needs.
