Compensation: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, Full-Time

Description

Assists the Director of Finance/ Assistant Director of Finance in the performance of accounting duties.

Under limited supervision, the Staff Accountant supports the Director of Finance in executing daily and monthly accounting functions. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with tax and audit requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to upholding the financial integrity of the hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the daily processes of the Accounting Department, which include income audit, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, & general cashiering.
  • Set up House Accounts and A/R Accounts as needed or directed by management
  • Complete daily income journal reconciliation balancing to PMS / POS Reports
  • Prepares month-end journal entries for Director of Finance review, as needed
  • Participate in the monthly/quarterly physical inventories process as required by policy.
  • Review and reconcile contract labor in Work Records if applicable
  • Review Tax Exemptions
  • Responsible to respond and resolve all chargebacks as they occur
  • Prepare and process payroll
  • Provide financial support as needed to the business entities during forecast and budgeting process
  • Perform various accounting office tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to scheduled work hours.
  • Maintain a cooperative and professional demeanor.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of finance experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with GAAP.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with hotel systems (PMS / POS, Profitsage, M3)
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer
  • Occasional lifting of files or office supplies (up to 20 lbs)
