Job Title:  Valet Attendant (PART-TIME)

Department: Hotel Front office

Reports To: Valet Supervisor

Summary 

Parks and retrieves automobiles for customers in parking lot.

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greets and welcomes all guests.
  • Answers questions from patrons.
  • Places numbered tag on windshield of automobile to be parked and hands customer similar tag to be used later in locating parked automobile.
  • Provides prompt service or assistance for guests.
  • Drives automobile to parking space.
  • Takes numbered tag from customer, locates automobile, and surrenders it to customer.
  • Maintains excellent driving record.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Must be 21 years of age.   Must be able to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles of all types. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.  Must have an excellent driving record and be able to submit a current copy of a 39 month Motor Vehicle Report that reflects the following criteria:

  • No alcohol/drug related violations (e.g. DUI);
  • No reckless driving violations;
  • No more than 3 moving violations;
  • No more than 2 speeding tickets in excess of 15 miles per hour over the posted speed;
  • No more than 2 "at fault" accidents.

Other Qualifications

Must have a sense of urgency towards service delivery and demonstrate the ability to be efficient and courteous while interacting with a large number of guests.  Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.  Must present a well-groomed appearance.  Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays. 

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk, sometimes run; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; secondary smoke, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud with bright lights and dust.
