Night Audit Supervisor

Job Summary 

The Night Audit Supervisor leads the overnight front desk operations.  They are responsible for reconciling all daily hotel transactions, ensuring financial accuracy, and closing out the day’s transactions.  Manage guest services during overnight hours which include but are not limited to guest check-in/check-out, making reservations, answering guest inquiries, ensuring  guest satisfaction is met, delivering the best guest experience. Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) to ensure safety, security, and smooth operation of the property. 

Responsibilities

• Audit and balance room revenues, food and beverage charges, taxes, parking revenue, other property transactions and close out the day’s transactions.
• Generate, verify, and distribute end-of-day financial reports.
• Supervise, train and mentor night audit staff. Monitor performance and assist with complex issues.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring new associates for the department.
• Provide exceptional service during check-ins, check-outs, and phone inquiries. 
• Post room charges, taxes to guests’ accounts and process no-shows.
• Collect payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card processing and accounting policies and procedures.
• Act as first point of contact to resolve overnight guest complaints or billing inquiries.
• Follow and complete the checklist for required duties by the end of your shift.
• Oversee shift handovers and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
• Provide courteous service to guests and be cordial to all team members.
• Be knowledgeable of current room rates, room availability, and emergency procedures.
• Be knowledgeable of the hotel, its services and facilities, in-house groups/events and local attractions to be able to provide guests with information.
• Record all guest requests and deficiencies on the Guest Make It Right Log and follow up to ensure it has been taken care of.
• Always maintain a clean and professional appearance as outlined in departmental and hotel policies.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Act as Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Any other tasks/duties requested or assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 1-2 years hotel front desk, night audit or customer service experience.
• Prior night audit/accounting or hospitality supervisory experience preferred.
