Position Summary

The Ontario Airport Hotel & Conference Center, soon to become a Hyatt Regency, is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven, and results-oriented Recruiter to join our People & Culture team. As our hotel continues its exciting renovation and transformation, this role will play a vital part in building the talented team that will bring our vision to life. The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle for both hourly and salaried positions across all hotel departments. Working closely with hiring managers and department leaders, this position will develop recruiting strategies, source and screen qualified candidates, coordinate interviews, facilitate the hiring process, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding. The Recruiting Coordinator will serve as a trusted talent acquisition partner, ensuring hiring practices align with Company policies, employment laws, and Hyatt's purpose, values, and commitment to caring for people so they can be their best.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment process for hotel positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Prepare and post job advertisements on internal and external recruiting platforms.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand workforce needs and develop strategic recruiting plans that support operational goals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to create, review, and maintain job descriptions that accurately reflect position requirements while aligning with Hyatt's purpose, values, brand standards, and competency framework.
  • Source qualified candidates through job boards, networking, social media, community partnerships, referrals, and career fairs.
  • Conduct phone screenings and initial interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process to provide an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Extend verbal offers and assist with pre-employment documentation.
  • Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, employment verifications, and onboarding requirements.
  • Maintain recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate pipeline, and turnover trends.
  • Represent the hotel at job fairs, networking events, hospitality schools, and community recruiting initiatives.
  • Develop creative recruiting campaigns that promote the hotel as an employer of choice.
  • Build relationships with colleges, vocational schools, workforce development organizations, and hospitality associations.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding activities and orientation scheduling.
  • Ensure all pre-employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Partner with department leaders to provide a smooth transition from candidate to colleague.
  • Assist with new hire engagement initiatives during the onboarding period.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant and employee information.
  • Assist with HR administrative projects and special assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • One (1) to three (3) years of recruiting or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Hotel or hospitality recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience recruiting high-volume hourly positions is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and hiring practices preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong interviewing and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
