We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Food & Beverage to lead all aspects of our hotel’s dining and beverage operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines creativity with operational discipline and has a passion for developing teams, elevating service standards, and creating a food and beverage program that becomes a destination for both hotel guests and the local community.
What You'll Do
As Director of Food & Beverage, you will oversee all food and beverage operations while partnering with hotel leadership to deliver exceptional experiences and achieve business goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all hotel food and beverage outlet, including restaurant, bar, banquet, and event operations.
- Create a welcoming, energetic atmosphere that reflects the Canopy brand and the spirit of Memphis.
- Lead, coach, and develop food and beverage leaders and hourly team members to deliver exceptional hospitality.
- Drive revenue growth through innovative programming, local partnerships, events, and guest engagement strategies.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, food and beverage costs, and profitability.
- Establish and maintain service standards that consistently exceed guest expectations.
- Partner with culinary leadership to develop menus, promotions, seasonal offerings, and memorable dining experiences.
- Analyze operating results and implement strategies to improve revenue, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management, purchasing, cost controls, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
- Build strong relationships with hotel guests, community partners, and local businesses to position the hotel as a neighborhood destination.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience in hotels, restaurants, resorts, or lifestyle hospitality environments.
- Experience managing multiple outlets and leading both restaurant and banquet operations preferred.
- Proven ability to drive revenue, improve profitability, and manage financial results.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, service standards, and guest experience strategies.
- Demonstrated success developing and motivating high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance creativity with strong operational execution.
- Experience working in a luxury, upscale, boutique, or lifestyle hospitality environment preferred.
- Food safety and responsible alcohol service certifications preferred.
