About Lakewood Country Club
Founded in 1912, Lakewood Country Club is a premier private club serving more than 1,150 member families. The campus includes a 68,000 sq. ft. main clubhouse, fitness center, multiple dining outlets, an 8,000 sq. ft. pool/tennis clubhouse, three swimming pools, eight hard-tru tennis courts, a full laundry facility, and 32 rooftop HVAC units. The Club is currently in the midst of a major golf course renovation and continues to invest in its facilities and Member experience.
Position Summary
Lakewood Country Club is seeking a hands-on, service-minded Director of Facilities to lead all aspects of facility operations, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and capital planning across the Club's buildings and infrastructure, including oversight of the Housekeeping and Laundry teams. This position reports to the Assistant General Manager.

- Housekeeping and laundry operations consistently meet the Club's presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate the Building Maintenance and Housekeeping/Laundry teams.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop staff.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture across all facilities departments.
Maintenance & Operations
- Oversee preventative maintenance for all buildings, systems, and equipment.
- Maintain and monitor fire, HVAC, lighting, electrical, plumbing, data, IT, and related systems.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments, including development of clear SOPs.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs and weekly inspections with leadership.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational reliability throughout the Club.
Project & Vendor Management
- Serve as project manager for all repairs, renovations, and improvements.
- Procure bids, manage contracts, and negotiate terms for in-house and outsourced upgrades.
- Manage purchasing of equipment, materials, and maintenance supplies.
Planning & Compliance
- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance and Housekeeping/Laundry budgets and capital planning.
- Maintain five-year preventative maintenance and capital improvement plans.
- Work with the Director of Security & Safety to meet all safety, health, and fire requirements and renew permits.
Technology & Systems
- Oversee implementation and use of a CMMS for work orders, vendor tracking, and asset management.
Qualifications & Experience
Core Competencies
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
- Strong organizational and multi-discipline project management skills.
- Experience with site planning, layout, grading, and storm water management a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and compliance.
Education & Credentials
- Two-year degree in a related engineering field is preferred.
- 6–8 years of progressive engineering or facilities experience preferred.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience required.
- Hospitality or private club experience is a plus.
- HVAC, Electrical, or Swimming Pool certifications are preferred.
- CFM or FMP certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and maintenance software.
