Compensation: $70,000 to $85,000 per year, Full-Time
The Human Resources Manager supports the overall HR function of Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa, with primary responsibility for employee relations, performance management, colleague engagement, HR compliance, and the colleague experience.The role serves as a trusted HR partner to hotel leadership and colleagues, ensuring consistent application of Hyatt policies and full compliance with the Cayman Islands Labour Act and applicable local employment requirements.Main Duties & Responsibilities:1. Lead employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and investigations.2. Provide guidance to managers and colleagues on HR policies, employment practices, and the Cayman Islands Labour Act.3. Ensure HR practices and employment decisions comply with Cayman Islands labour requirements and Hyatt policies.4. Support performance management, including coaching, counselling, performance improvement plans, and corrective action.5. Partner with department leaders to promote colleague engagement, recognition, retention, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture.6. Support the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, transfers, promotions, leave administration, and separations.7. Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations documentation and HR records.8. Monitor employee relations, absenteeism, turnover, and retention trends and recommend appropriate actions.9. Coach managers on effective people management, documentation, communication, and consistent application of HR policies.10. Support the Director of Human Resources with HR initiatives and assume additional HR leadership responsibilities when required.Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.2. Minimum 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with strong experience in employee relations.3. Previous Human Resources experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury or international hotel environment.4. Strong working knowledge and practical experience applying the Cayman Islands Labour Act and local employment requirements is essential.5. Proven experience handling employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, workplace investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution.6. Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment best practices.7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.8. Strong judgement, professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters.9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.10.
