Job Summary

The Courtyard Austin Northwest/Lakeline is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Part-Time Bistro Attendant to join our Food & Beverage team.

This is a flexible position supporting both morning and evening Bistro operations, with additional opportunities to assist with group functions, meetings, receptions, and other hotel Food & Beverage events.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can adapt to changing business levels, and is comfortable working independently while maintaining Courtyard and Marriott service standards. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for approximately 25–30 hours per week with a schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and event-related shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to hotel guests and event attendees

  • Open, set up, operate, and close the Bistro according to established procedures

  • Prepare and serve Bistro food and beverage items while following recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines

  • Set up, maintain, and restock food, beverage, coffee, and service stations throughout the shift

  • Take guest orders accurately and process transactions through the hotel point-of-sale system

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Bistro and dining area

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, temperatures, and expiration dates

  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures

  • Assist with preparation and service for hotel meetings, group functions, receptions, and special events

  • Set up meeting and event Food & Beverage areas, including tables, beverages, food displays, and service supplies

  • Assist with replenishing food and beverages during group functions and events

  • Break down and clean event areas following functions

  • Assist with light food preparation and other kitchen or Bistro duties as needed

  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply or product needs to hotel leadership

  • Complete cleaning, side work, stocking, and closing duties before the end of each shift

  • Respond to guest requests and concerns in a professional and hospitality-focused manner

  • Work closely with Front Desk, Sales, Housekeeping, and hotel leadership to ensure a positive guest and group experience

  • Assist in other hotel areas when needed based on business demands

Schedule & Availability

This is a part-time position averaging up to 25–30 hours per week.

Candidates should have flexibility to work a combination of:

  • Early morning Bistro shifts

  • Evening Bistro shifts

  • Weekends

  • Holidays as needed

  • Group and event functions

  • Additional hours during periods of higher hotel occupancy or group business

Schedule flexibility is important, as hours may vary based on hotel occupancy, meetings, events, and group business.

Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant, hotel, café, barista, banquet, or Food & Beverage experience is preferred but not required

  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills

  • Friendly, dependable, and professional demeanor

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers

  • Ability to work independently and remain organized during busy periods

  • Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities at once

  • Willingness to learn Bistro, event, and group Food & Beverage operations

  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull supplies and equipment associated with Food & Beverage and event service

  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on business needs

  • Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain certification as required

As our group and event business continues to grow, this position will play an important role in supporting both our daily Bistro operation and the Food & Beverage experience provided to meetings and events throughout the hotel.
