Job Title: EVS Shift Supervisor

Department: Environmental Services (EVS)

Reports To: EVS Assistant Manager

Summary

Assists the EVS management with the operation and administration of the EVS department and personnel.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises EVS I, EVS Floor Technicians and EVS Night Cleaners in the EVS Department on a given shift.

Carries  out  supervisory  responsibilities  in  accordance  with  the  organization's  policies  and  applicable  laws. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

become the Gaming Enterprises’ future leaders. Pathways to Success is designed to foster the participant’s

preparedness for success on the job.

A Supervisor level leader is expected to actively support ECMs in their professional and academic goals through:

•  Personalized Support: Regularly engage with individual ECMs to understand their career interests and educational goals. Offer guidance tailored to their aspirations.

•  Opportunity Identification: Proactively inform ECMs about internal and external training, workshops, and educational programs aligned with their development needs.

•  Facilitation of Growth: Encourage participation in stretch assignments, cross-training, and job shadowing to build new skills and broaden experience.

•  Feedback and Recognition: Provide constructive feedback and recognize efforts toward self-improvement and career advancement.

•  Resource Connection: Connect ECMs to relevant mentors, subject matter experts, and specific Pathways to Success programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•  Acts as a working supervisor engaged in all aspects of the EVS Department and is able to work any shift.

•  Evaluates work of employees insuring timely performance and an adequate quantity and quality of work, with authority to accept, amend and/or reject work.

•  Prepares / Issues employee Evaluations.

•  Plans the day-to-day activities and special tasks of employees. Plans and prescribes deadlines and sequence of work for individual workers.

•  Makes  minor  adjustments  in  procedure  and  sequence  of  operations  as  necessary  to  accomplish  the  work effectively and efficiently. Assures that al personnel, materials and equipment are available at the work site.

•  Trains EVS personnel including new employees in routine cleaning procedures and approved methods  and techniques for cleaning and disinfecting; handling soiled linen and precautions necessary to protect themselves while performing such duties.

•  Distributes  work  among  the  employees  designating  and  assigning  individuals  for  various  tasks.  Provides instruction upon initial assignment of task, new procedures, and non-recurring task through explanation and demonstration  at  proper  work  methods,  requirements  and  procedures.  Reviews  work  in  progress  while providing assistance when problems arise.

•  Tentatively approves PTO for short periods of time (1 to 2 days).

•  Responsible for recommending and training potential leads for each shift.

•  Responsible  for  ensuring  that  a  high  standard  of  cleanliness  is  maintained  in  accordance  with  acceptable standards that management has set.

•  Maintains employee work schedules.

•  Ensures that soiled linen is removed and properly stored after each shift. Informs EVS manager of equipment repairs and replacement.

•  Prepares supply list for weekly and daily use.

•  Conducts continual safety programs to appraise EVS employees of the safety hazards both to themselves and the customer. Makes sure signs are posted and visible on areas sealed off during cleaning.

•  Reports slips, trips or falls to Security. Understands that Safety is our prime objective for customers and employees.

•  Conducts experiments and comparative tests with various cleaning agents and methods. Constantly re-evaluates procedures and techniques as new innovations are introduced and marketed.

•  Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31,Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.

•  Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.

Education and/or Experience required for Shift Supervisor

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.

Computer Skills

Basic PC skills preferred.

Other Qualifications

Must have a good working knowledge of overall operations relating to EVS. Must be able to work harmoniously with

co-workers and be a team player. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully

perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Must be physically able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs during a shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; secondary smoke; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
