Bring the Resort to Life, One Repair at a Time

At The Scott Resort & Spa, every detail matters—from the glow of the courtyard at dusk to the comfort of a guest’s perfectly cooled room after a sun-soaked Scottsdale day. We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping a distinctive Four-Diamond resort operating beautifully.

This is an opportunity to work where hospitality meets craftsmanship. You’ll help preserve the polished, tropical-inspired atmosphere that makes The Scott a favorite escape in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale—while ensuring our guests, associates, and facilities are safe, comfortable, and ready for every memorable stay.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, pools, mechanical rooms, and resort grounds.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests, delivering service that is efficient, courteous, and guest-focused.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, appliances, doors, locks, furniture, drywall, paint, and basic carpentry.
  • Inspect guest rooms and resort facilities to identify maintenance needs before they become disruptions.
  • Assist with the maintenance and operation of pools, spas, pumps, filters, and related equipment, following all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Support preventative-maintenance programs that protect the resort’s facilities, extend equipment life, and create a seamless guest experience.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain clear records of repairs, inspections, materials, and completed projects.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance supplies safely and responsibly.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Security, Landscaping, and other resort teams to minimize guest impact and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas, storage spaces, and maintenance equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer specifications, building codes, and local regulations.
  • Assist with special projects, seasonal maintenance, event support, and other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

Scottsdale is known for sunshine, style, world-class dining, art, golf, and unforgettable desert energy. The Scott brings that spirit to life with a warm, welcoming personality all its own. Here, you won’t simply repair what’s broken—you’ll help create the relaxing, effortless experience guests come to Arizona to find.

Our team is fun, friendly, collaborative, and genuinely committed to one another. We value people who are curious, dependable, and ready to jump in. If you enjoy variety in your day, take satisfaction in a job well done, and like being the person others count on when something needs attention, you’ll feel right at home.

What You’ll Bring

  • Some experience in building maintenance, engineering, facilities, apartment, residential, commercial, or hospitality maintenance is required.
  • Working knowledge of one or more skilled trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, or general building maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify practical solutions, and complete repairs with attention to quality and safety.
  • Comfort using hand tools, power tools, ladders, testing equipment, and common maintenance materials.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, equipment manuals, safety procedures, and basic building plans or diagrams.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize urgent guest needs and routine maintenance responsibilities.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a genuine commitment to exceptional internal and external guest service.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant trade certifications, HVAC certification, pool certification, or other maintenance credentials are a plus.
  • Ability to memorize and perform Resort Standards and expectations.

What Success Looks Like

  • You bring a calm, capable presence to every repair, request, and unexpected challenge.
  • You notice the details others may miss and take pride in keeping a beautiful resort looking and functioning its best.
  • You communicate clearly, listen carefully, and treat every guest and colleague with courtesy and respect.
  • You maintain a neat, organized workspace and keep important job-related records in order.
  • You present yourself professionally and meet the grooming standards appropriate for a Four-Diamond resort.
  • You work ethically, safely, and conscientiously—even when no one is watching.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work may take place indoors and outdoors throughout the resort, including in Arizona heat and changing weather conditions. The role requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and moving equipment and materials. Actual hours may vary based on business needs and may include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

This is a safety-sensitive position and is included in the company’s random drug-screening process. Attendance as scheduled is a critical element of every position at The Scott Resort & Spa.

About Marc & Rose Hospitality

Practicing Genuine Hospitality Since 1962

Marc & Rose is a hospitality collective of iconic resorts and hidden gems, each rooted in its destination and united by a shared purpose: to make space for genuine hospitality. As owner-operators, we believe hospitality is more than service -- it's a daily practice rooted in empathy, curiosity, and care. Every property has its own character, but all are connected by a commitment to creating thoughtful experiences that bring people together.

Our purpose comes to life through four guiding pillars: Hands-On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, and Always Conscientious. These values shape how we welcome our guests, support one another, and continually learn, grow, and improve.

We know that each of us is the host one day; the next, the traveler. That perspective reminds us to approach every interaction with empathy, intention, and care. It shapes how we welcome our guests, support our colleagues, and build places where people feel they belong. Because genuine hospitality isn't defined by a single role -- it's created by every person who chooses to practice it.

Working at Marc & Rose means being part of a team that takes pride in the details, invests in your growth, and believes the best experiences come from people who genuinely want to be there. Across a collection of distinctive destinations, you'll find meaningful work, room to grow your craft, and colleagues who care about doing things well.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to welcome you.
