The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is searching for a Human Resources Manager to join our HR team at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. As an HR Manager, you will oversee team member onboarding, training, compliance, and employee relations, and be an important partner for your local and enterprise HR team.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $68,300 – $116,100 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. What will you do?

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and team members on employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Manage the full employee relations lifecycle, including coaching, investigations, corrective action, performance improvement plans, and employee separations. Conduct workplace investigations and resolve sensitive employee issues with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Partner with leaders to address employee relations challenges while ensuring a positive employee experience and compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Provide guidance on labor relations matters, including contract interpretation, grievance management, and collaboration with union representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, labor agreements, and company policies.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Operations to support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training on employee relations, performance management, workplace policies, and compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between local operations and the broader HR team, promoting consistency, best practices, and business alignment.
  • Foster positive employee, manager, and labor-management relationships within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

More about you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant employee relations responsibilities
  • Hospitality industry experience required, preferably in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Union experience required, including grievance handling, contract interpretation, and labor-management relations
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full employee relations lifecycle, including coaching, performance management, investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee separations
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations programs
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with leaders and influence decision-making on employee and organizational matters.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
