The North West Company Fort Simpson

The North West Company Inc. is proud of the active role we play within the communities we serve, striving to make a positive, progressive difference. Our contributions within the community of Fort Simpson, NT, are a testament to our commitment. Fort Simpson, the only village within the Northwest Territories, is located 500 kilometers west of Yellowknife, right at the confluence of the Mackenzie and Liard rivers and is accessible by air, boat and winter road. The village’s 1,202 residents (as per 2016 Census Canada data) speak South Slavey and English, and include 770 First Nations, 95 Métis and 20 Inuit peoples.
