Director of Sales

BASIC FUNCTIONS:  To direct assertive solicitation program that will insure budgeted room night revenue goals are achieved on an annual basis. Responsible for coordinating and participating in the direct sales effort in the group market, corporate, leisure, travel and other revenue producing departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:  EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE

College degree or Associates degree with hotel experience preferred.

Required - Minimum 3-4 years experience in the hospitality field as a Sales Manager.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Supervisory and personnel management experience.

Professional, aggressive, outgoing and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Establish group sales goals, forecasting group revenues, budgeting and management of sales office.

Coaching and counseling of all sales staff.

Train sales managers in selling techniques and management philosophy, develop a solid winning team.

Assist General Manager in monitoring hotel budgeted goals.

Attend industry and client related functions in order to keep current on industry trends and to maintain close client contact.

Direct sales activities including roadshows, blitz’s, group promotions, fams, etc.

Handle accounts and achieve or exceed sales goals.

Direct sales managers with booking groups, particularly in the area of joint calls, join site inspections and entertaining.

Prepare monthly report.

Assist General Manager in the preparation of the annual sales and marketing plan and budgets.

Proficient in sales and banquet related software.

Approve all group bookings prior to contract.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform other related duties as requested by the General Manager.
