Compensation: 70% Commission to Trainer, Part-Time

Job Summary:  Provide in-person quality personal training sessions to Members

Education and/or Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education or related field preferred
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a personal training position

  • Provides inspiration and encouragement for the Member to assist them in obtaining their health and fitness goals
  • Creates and deepens relationships with Members to enhance their connection with the Club

  • Works harmoniously and professionally with all Members and colleagues
  • Inspires and influences Members to lead a healthy lifestyle through the application of evidence-based fitness and movement programs
  • Facilitates training while maintaining safety and providing the Member with personal and gracious service
  • Communicates Member feedback, problems, or complaints to Fitness Center Manager in a timely manner

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Utilizes experiences and knowledge-based training to develop personal training programs specific to the Members’ needs and capabilities in private or semi-private training sessions that drive client goal achievement
  • Provides all necessary communication with Members to maintain scheduled sessions and is prompt and prepared to deliver effective training plans that meet or exceed the Members’ expectations
  • Maintains an organized and safe fitness environment during sessions
  • Maintains records of programs and results of individual clients
  • Provides a premier level of service through monitoring and instructing Members during training sessions on safe and effective use of strength and cardiovascular equipment
  • Applies technical knowledge of field to occasional written educational articles and health and wellness promotions
  • Maintains focus and mental alertness to recognize potential hazards and must be both physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and perform CPR and or First Aid as needed
  • Completes all personal training billing in accordance with established accounting procedures and Fitness Center processes
  • Attends and participates in any required one-on-one or team meetings with Club leadership

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Must have current personal training certification from ACSM, NCSA, or NASM
  • Must possess current CPR and AED training certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Must possess professional liability insurance of $1,000,000 per claim and $50,000 damage to rented premises insurance
  • Must be authorized to work in the US

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 45 pounds
  • Must be able to move in a manner that provides effective demonstration of sports performance exercises, including proper, technical aspects of conditioning skills

The Club's founding fathers knew the land at the corner of Gaston and Abrams would be an ideal location for Dallas' second 18-hole golf course.
