Laundry Attendant

Job Summary

To tender laundering machines to clean articles such as wearing apparel, sheets, blankets, and other linens used by the hotel and guests, according to company procedures and at a level that meets or exceeds company standards. Must be available to work mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Job Functions

• Operate and monitor washing, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
•  Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard. 
• Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer and place in clean linen carts. 
• Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load. 
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load. 
• Fold cleaned articles into designated size, either by hand or using folding machine. 
• Maintain accurate records of items laundered.
• Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
• All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
• Perform any related duties as requested by management.
• Assists other Housekeeping Personnel when need.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Push Heavy carts.

• Previous experience preferable.
• Lift all equipment and supplies on and off the cart.

Physical Demands

• Ability to Lift, Push & Pull up to (50) pounds required.
• Frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding
• Continuous movement throughout department
• Standing is required during the entire shift.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
