Overview

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and operational support of Osage Casinos’ enterprise network across multiple casino and hospitality properties. This role owns core routing, switching, wireless infrastructure, WAN connectivity, VPN services, and high-level network security systems including firewalls, NAC, and DNS-layer defenses. The Senior Network Engineer ensures network availability, performance, security, and resilience in a regulated gaming environment and collaborates closely with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to maintain secure, compliant operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IT, or related field, or equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal secondary education.
  • 7+ years of enterprise networking experience across multi-site environments, and experience supporting or collaborating within regulated environments (gaming, hospitality, healthcare, or Tribal enterprises) required.
  • Experience supporting network security systems such as firewalls, NAC, and DNS security required.
  • Cisco CCNP certification required; CCNP Enterprise preferred.
  • CCIE preferred.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain and maintain an Osage Nation gaming license.
  • Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:

COMMUNICATION:

  • Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.
  • Conducts at least bi-weekly One-on-One meetings with direct reports, soliciting input from employees.
  • On an individual basis or in a group format, explains why, shares information, and communicates the purpose of decisions to applicable staff.
  • Ensures company information provided by management is effectively communicated.

DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS:

  • Administers, maintains, and optimizes LAN/WAN architecture across all Osage Casinos properties.
  • Supports Cisco Layer 2/3 switching and routing, including EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, and/or SD-WAN technologies.
  • Designs and manages enterprise wireless networks using Cisco WLCs and APs, including RF planning, heatmapping, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Maintains external/guest Wi-Fi systems and ensures proper segmentation and security controls.
  • Oversees IP addressing, VLAN design, subnetting, and overall network topology across the enterprise.
  • Implements network infrastructure changes following established change control processes.
  • Administers Cisco ASA/FTD firewalls, firewall policies, VPN configurations, and rule hygiene.
  • Supports Cisco ISE NAC policies, 802.1x authentication, and guest/BYOD workflows.
  • Manages Cisco Umbrella DNS-layer security and Duo MFA integrations at a network/security level.
  • Assists cybersecurity with SecureX/XDR investigations and network-related incident response.
  • Ensures configuration baselines, segmentation standards, and Zero Trust-aligned controls are followed.
  • Manages Cisco AnyConnect remote access VPN and site-to-site VPNs.
  • Supports DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services and coordinates with server and application teams.
  • Uses SolarWinds, Meraki Insights, ThousandEyes, or similar tools to detect performance issues and optimize uptime.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves complex network problems across a multi-property environment.
  • Maintains detailed network diagrams, asset inventories, and configuration documentation.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation and may respond after hours to critical incidents.
  • Leads network modernization projects, upgrades, and site expansions.
  • Assists with lifecycle planning for network hardware refreshes, Wi-Fi redesigns, and new construction initiatives.
  • Coordinates with vendors, facilities, cybersecurity, and other IT teams during planning and deployment.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Cisco technologies, networking/security best practices, Wi-Fi evolution, Zero Trust principles, and emerging threats relevant to regulated gaming environments.
  • Contributes to a collaborative team environment and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, guests, regulatory agencies, and others.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and VPN technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco ASA/FTD firewalls, Cisco ISE NAC, Cisco Umbrella, and Duo.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust network architecture, segmentation, and secure access controls.
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN concepts (if applicable).
  • Ability to interpret and troubleshoot RF conditions and Wi-Fi performance issues.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills across complex distributed networks.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with high complexity and provide timely updates.
  • Ability to travel (5–15%) to casino properties for projects, installs, and upgrades.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

  • Monitors all relevant activities of the area of responsibility, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the organization, and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Osage Nation Gaming Commission (ONGC) are understood and enforced by all applicable personnel.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure compliance.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with company core values, objectives of the Osage Nation, internal policies and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, ONGR, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.
  • Ensures assigned staff are aware of, understand and comply with regulatory requirements and enforces regulatory standards through discipline when necessary.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting area of responsibility and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
  • Maintains strong working knowledge of IT regulatory regulations and processes.
  • Ensure all aspects of IT Department activities and equipment are audit ready and compliant with all gaming regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, audit, departmental and company policies.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of staff, communications, decision-making, problem solving, complaint resolution, resource allocation, and customer service are preferred.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Read Company or departmental reports, newsletters, and documents.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is typically performed within an office and casino setting.
  • Exposure to second-hand smoke.
  • Evening and weekend shifts, extended hours, and irregular shifts may be required. Ability to work night and weekends required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
  • The employee may be exposed to risks associated with travel between properties and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.
