The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring seasonal Beer Hawkers to join our team at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

Ready to turn game days at Petco Park into serious cash? The Hawker isn’t just a job—it’s a game-changing opportunity to earn!

The Beer Hawker is a high-energy, high-reward, physically active part-time gig where effort directly translates to earnings. You’ll be right in the heart of the action, selling beverages throughout the stadium directly to cheering fans as their in their seats.

This is a fast-paced role where your effort directly translates to your income through a combination of commissions and tips – the more you hustle and connect with fans, the more you earn! This position is gameday only, and shifts will typically only be 3 hours or less.

We’re seeking individuals with:

Sales Drive: A natural inclination toward selling and achieving targets.

High Energy & Stamina: The endurance and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment for several hours.

Physical Fitness: The ability to comfortably carry 50-75 lbs up and downstairs and navigate crowded spaces.

Competitive Spirit: A desire to outperform others and earn top commissions.

Customer Service Orientation: The ability to build rapport with customers and provide excellent service.

Pay: In 2025, our top Hawkers at Petco Park averaged $178 per game in just 3.5 hours of work! Top sellers regularly earned more than $400 per game.

Please note: This position is paid in commissions and tips. The minimum wage listed is paid if total commissions and tips do not meet minimum wage requirements. Hourly wage is not paid in addition to commission and tips.

Pay

$17.75 – $17.75 / hour

What will you do?

  • Sell beverages throughout Petco Park in the stands
  • Actively engage with fans and promote beverage sales
  • Circulate among guests within the assigned section; call out and sell alcohol, beverage or food products
  • Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, request identification and adhere to company alcohol policies and procedures
  • Collect payment from guests while following credit handling policies
  • Conduct inventory reports at the end of each shift 

More about you

  • Must be 21 years old
  • High energy, stamina, and a positive attitude
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to comfortably carry 50-75 lbs up and down stairs and navigate crowded areas for extended periods
  • A strong sales drive and a hunger to maximize your earnings
  • Basic math skills to accurately account for vendor sales
  • Capacity to understand and follow directions as well as work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
