JOB OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision of the Venue Manager, the Bartender maintain efficient and courteous food and beverage operations by greeting guests, anticipating guest’s needs, providing knowledgeable Food & Beverage service, and providing consistent professional guest relations with a positive upbeat personality. Works efficiently in a team-based environment and must follow all alcohol beverage and food handling policy guidelines as well as all resort internal controls, consistently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Recognizes levels of intoxication and prevent customers from being overly intoxicated.
  • Maintains a safe work environment at all times.
  • Informs customers about current bar specials and practices suggestive selling beverages and food.
  • Restock bar supplies, such as dry goods, all glassware, all juices, sodas, and garnishes.
  • Informs manager or supervisor when supplies are needed.
  • Full bar service including beer and crafted cocktails.
  • Helps maintain cleanliness of bar and lounge areas and equipment, TV, signs, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Cleans all bar tables and wipes clean and checks chairs for spills.
  • Maintain and clean all alcohol and soda control devices.
  • Records all sales by ringing exact amounts into register.
  • Greet customers in a courteous manner, with world-class service in mind.
  • Review any shortages and overages and record it for management’s review.
  • Setup bar area and seating area prior to opening.
  • Maintain security of all bar supplies and inventory and maintain record of daily operations as required.
  • Changes tap on empty kegs and report any problems or leaks to manager or supervisor.
  • Check opening inventory and note any shortages or changes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Work as a team with co-workers and treat all co-workers with respect.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have a working knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations.
  • Must have 6 months of bartending experience. Must have ABLE License.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.

To maintain a positive guest and associate experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, can solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
