General Manager

The Two Trees Inn at Foxwoods is preparing to reopen in Spring 2026, launching an exciting new chapter for this well-known, value-driven hotel located just minutes from Foxwoods Resort Casino. Closed since the pandemic, the property will reopen under the ownership of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and be operated by Waterford Hotel Group.

This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for an experienced hotel leader to oversee a reopening and relaunch, establish operational excellence from the ground up, and build a high-performing team. The hotel offers key guest amenities including an indoor pool, fitness center, and shuttle service to the casino, and plays an important role within the broader Foxwoods hospitality ecosystem.

We are seeking a charismatic, hands-on General Manager who is confident in their ability to lead, motivate teams, maximize revenue, control expenses, and maintain the physical asset—while exceeding both guest and associate expectations.

Position Overview

As General Manager, you will serve as the primary strategic business leader for the property and will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including overall performance, sales and marketing strategy, profitability, revenue generation, and human resources. This role requires a leader who can successfully guide the hotel through its reopening phase while setting the foundation for long-term success.

You will lead the development and execution of property-wide strategies with the goal of delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving associate engagement, and achieving strong financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all hotel departments including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage and Finance
  • Ensure service programs and company standards are established, communicated, and consistently executed
  • Provide timely, real-time feedback to management and hourly associates on service delivery and operational performance
  • Create and support clear lines of responsibility for the management team, ensuring proper coverage and oversight at all times
  • Measure, analyze, and communicate property performance using financial and non-financial data including revenue, controllable costs, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement
  • Drive sales and marketing initiatives in partnership with ownership and corporate resources to support reopening and ongoing occupancy goals
  • Actively recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing leadership team and associate base
  • Conduct day-to-day human resource activities including hiring approvals, compensation actions, coaching, and performance management
  • Ensure ongoing professional development of managers through coaching, mentoring, and stretch assignments
  • Provide regular updates to ownership, leadership, and above-property stakeholders regarding financial performance, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Previous hotel opening, reopening, renovation, or turnaround experience
  • Proven ability to build teams, implement systems, and establish operating standards from day one
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills to manage multiple priorities during a reopening phase
  • Experience collaborating closely with ownership groups and management companies
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to be highly visible during the reopening and stabilization period
  • Revenue growth and hands-on sales & marketing leadership
  • Facility and engineering planning and follow-through
  • Leading with confidence, integrity, and accountability

Specific qualifications for the role include

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive hotel General Manager experience
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing payroll, labor, and inventory cost controls
  • Prior Food & Beverage leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check
