Closed since the pandemic, the property will reopen under the ownership of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and be operated by Waterford Hotel Group.

This role presents a unique opportunity for a results-driven sales leader to build the sales function from the ground up, reintroduce the hotel to the market, and drive demand during the reopening and stabilization phase. The Director of Sales will play a critical role in positioning Two Trees as a preferred value option for casino-related demand, leisure, group, and transient segments, supported by amenities including an indoor pool, fitness center, and shuttle service to the casino.

We are seeking a hands-on, relationship-focused Director of Sales with strong market knowledge, a strategic mindset, and the ability to execute quickly in a reopening environment.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the total sales strategy for the hotel, with a focus on driving revenue, market share, and brand awareness following reopening. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to support reopening and long-term revenue goals
  • Identify, solicit, and secure group, leisure, corporate, and casino-related business
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, travel partners, and Foxwoods-adjacent stakeholders
  • Collaborate with revenue management to establish pricing, segmentation, and yield strategies
  • Lead direct sales efforts including prospecting, sales calls, site visits, and contract negotiations
  • Track, analysis, and report on sales performance, booking pace, and market trends
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and pipelines within the hotel’s CRM and reporting systems
  • Representing the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and community functions
  • Partner with hotel leadership to ensure sales strategies align with operational capabilities and guest expectations
  • Support brand visibility and market re-entry efforts leading up to and following reopening

  • Experience building a sales strategy, account base, and booking pace from scratch
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment during pre-opening and stabilization

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience, including Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager roles
  • Strong understanding of group, transient, and leisure sales strategies within a value-driven or select-service hotel environment
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding revenue goals
