Position Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and implementing department goals and standards, directing, coordinating, overseeing and delegating daily repair tasks to facilities maintenance personnel and making sure that the Isleta Casino and Resort is kept clean, operational and presentable. Will also be responsible for working with contractors for completing larger renovation projects. Promotes and Exhibits World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.  Ensures employee and guest compliance and conforms to all Tribal, Federal, State, Pueblo of Isleta Regulatory, and Isleta Resort and Casino regulations.

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. •             Assists in creating, updating, implementing and monitoring a written Maintenance Schedule, which includes day-to-day cleaning and long-term preventative maintenance,

•             Will be familiar with the properties blueprints and floorplans as they are needed to efficiently locate, identify and assess any potential problems with the infrastructure.

•             Role models for the desired behavior of all the property staff and follows all Management and Policies representing Isleta Resort and Casino.

•             Responsible for resolving all issues pertaining to building cleanness, repairs service and staff.

•             Use good judgement to initiate additional work tasks to maintain building repairs, services, and staff ongoing.

•             Facilitates all necessary building repairs or replacements; reacts in a timely manner to satisfy all service requests.

•             Responsible for scheduling, reporting, organizing, and tracking of all building activities and related staff issues.

•             Maintains a high level of cleanliness throughout the property and surrounding areas, may assist with sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning window, as needed in order to maintain services at the property.

•             Ensures all components and operations necessary for the property to function properly are carried out.

•             Works with all service contractors to ensure that elevators, pumps, motors and other building equipment of a mechanical nature are inspected regularly and cleaned, oiled, greased whenever necessary.

•             Adheres to all safety standards and performance standards of self and employees.

•             Enforces all reasonable building rules approved by the Management team.

•             Ensures schedules for cleaning of local waste line stoppages on property and maintains the work activities of water line repairs, shutting down of necessary systems to prevent further water damage.

•             Monitors landscape operations and upkeep standards set forth by Management.

•             Responsible for Electrical distribution systems, panel inspections / inferead infrared/ UPS testing and certification and CO inspections.

•             Schedules Inspections of lighting for all areas of property to be monitored for operation and luminary.

•             Ensures inspections of doorknobs, spindles, locks, latches, windows and adjusting regulators for operation.

•             Inspects property for repairs of exterior common area stucco and street level façade and wall and tile patches.

•             Responsible for minor replacement of asphalt, minor roofing patches, minor cement patches and stucco repairs; also painting of halls, conference room and offices.

•             Maintains mechanical room cleanliness, safety and OSHA standards.

Personnel & Administrative Tasks:

•             Monitors staff performance, behavior, and attendance to ensure adherence to all Isleta Resort and Casino SOPs and supports/issues/direct coaching and/or corrective action as warranted. .

•             Schedules and plans shift calendars, communicates departmental and organizational goals, and identifies opportunities for improvement. 

•             Ensures department is properly staffed and motivated to exceed the Isleta Resort and Casino’s goals and objectives.

•             Works with Director to ensure adherence to fiscal budget

•             Looks for/creates efficiencies in work tasks to ensure proper spending

•             Grants and/or denies PTO Requests as they pertain to scheduling.

•             Conducts planning sessions and performance reviews.

•             Maintains a skilled, trained, and motivated staff through continuous communication, feedback, and effective customer service training.

•             Manages direct reports to accomplish performance goals.

•             Provides developmental coaching and guidance for long-term career growth opportunities to all direct reports.

•             Trains, conducts planning sessions and performance reviews with direct reports and disciplines when necessary.

•             May occasionally be assigned to drive company vehicles on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties and/or other destinations, during shift.

•             Occasionally performs duties of subordinates and other duties as need. 

Accountability and Supervision:

Coordinates project scopes with the staff for HVAC, Plumbing, Appliance Technicians, Preventative Maintenance Techs, Preventative Maintenance Supervisors and all Apprentices.

Demonstrate decisive leadership ability in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s policies, SOPs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reassigning employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Education and Experience

•             High school diploma or GED required.

•             AA/AS preferred.

•             5 years of progressive/diverse building maintenance experience

•             5 years of supervisory experience specific to the gaming industry required

•             Fire and safety credentials (S-95 and fire panel) and certificates of fitness for standpipes and sprinkler system

•             5+ years of demonstrated construction supervision experience; preferably in commercial properties.  Broad range of construction skills.

•             5+ years of demonstrated on-site field experience as a superintendent/ project foreman.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

•             Must possess and maintain a valid trade license relevant to the position (examples are: MM98, EE98,  JP, JR, GB02, GB98) as required by state and local regulations.

•             Must be able to acquire and maintain Key Gaming License issued through POIGRA.

•             Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.

•             Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•             Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent integrity.

•             Proven analytical skills and problem-solving abilities; highly detailed and organized.

•             Ability to manage, supervise, mentor personnel, excellent communication skills.

•             Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, budget/cost control, quality control.

•             Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.

•             Industry specific knowledge of operations, equipment, methods, and materials.

•             Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

•             Maintain OSHA 10, 30, First Aid, CPR certifications.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

•             Maintenance Manager is to be “on – call” and respond to emergencies and other Building needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

•             Must always be available via cell phone and readily available to work, including but not limited to weekends, nights, holidays, emergencies, and special event both on and off property.

•             Must be willing to perform hands on work when necessary.

•             Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds intermittently.

•             Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
