The Revenue Management Analyst works with the Area Director of Revenue Management (ADORM) to maximizes total hotel room revenue by providing analytical analysis and technical knowledge of the market, the competition, distribution channels and various systems. The Revenue Analyst must be strategic and decisive, combining knowledge in e-commerce, sales, marketing, and distribution to offer support to the ADORM in making the optimal revenue decisions.

What you will be doing

•Maintains short-term & long-term trends of the local market.  Tracks evaluate and communicate business and market trends for assigned hotels to the ADORM.

•Reviews and tracks the brand contribution for assigned hotels to ensure maximizing brand channels and minimizing potential missed revenue opportunities

•Evaluates hotel performances to verify strategic pricing and restriction decisions by market segment and channel were successful in achieving revenue goals.  Determines areas of opportunities for further revenue growth and market penetration

•Reviews and analyses the group trends in sales systems such as tentative to definite percentage, wash factors, and optimal group booking windows.

•Prepares trend reports to be used when completing the 90-day room revenue forecasts for assigned hotels. 

•Evaluates the area competitors in regards to pricing, the mix of business, brand directives, and overall selling initiatives.  Monitors and tracks the competitor’s pricing and makes pricing adjustments accordingly to be communicated to the ADORM and VPRM.

•Evaluates the daily, weekly, and monthly STR report to understand the trends of assigned hotels and competition.  Interprets market conditions, trends, and the competition for the ADORM.

•Maintains demand generating calendars – holidays, special events, city wides, etc.

•Attends weekly Revenue Management Meeting with ADORM and VPRM to review performance, selling strategies, and market trends for assigned hotels.  Prepares and analyzes supporting documentation for revenue meetings for assigned hotels – inventory, pricing, market shops, forecast, budget, STR, group pace, etc. 

•Share trends with ADORM’s to optimize clustering opportunities to shift demand to same-city hotels

•Conduct audits to ensure all rate plans are set up properly and the inventory controls are set as predetermined by ADORM. 

•Ensures all Revenue Management data files are organized and maintained.

•Ensures actual room revenue statistics for assigned hotels are accurate in Profit Sage, Smith Travel reports, and brand systems.

•Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and marketing plan.

•Visit hotel’s competitors a minimum of every 6-months to understand the hotel’s strengths and weaknesses against each competitor both from a product and yield strategy perspective

•Assume the ADORM responsibilities when the ADORM is out of the office

The ideal candidate for this position

•High School Diploma and College degree required. .

•Strong Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar software preferred

•Strong analytical skills required and the ability to apply those skills to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.

•Effective communication skills, both verbally and written.

•Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals.

•Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment

*The anticipated compensation range for the position is $60k-70k per year.
