BASIC FUNCTION: The Dispatcher is responsible for answering all incoming calls, i.e. guest needs, employee needs, interdepartmental communications, and assigning to appropriate personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Must have a pleasant speaking voice.
Previous administrative background preferred.
General knowledge of computers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to type accurately (30 words per minute)
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to work in the Casino in a non-sensitive area
Employment contingent upon favorable background investigation and drug screen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assigns daily duties to House Attendants, completes room assignments for Room Attendants; assigns work section and VIP room inspections for Floor Supervisors; assigns daily work for deep cleaner.
2. Communicates special guest needs, cleaning needs, and special projects to appropriate personnel.
3. Maintains complete control of room status through constant computer monitoring, frequent communication with updates to Front Office, and Floor Supervisors.
4. Monitors computer to ensure adequate room availability and communicates needs to Floor Supervisors.
5. Maintains a log of all telephone calls and requests for housekeeping services and maintenance needs and assigns requests to appropriate department/personnel.
6. Keeps Executive Housekeeper and Housekeeping Manager informed of all complaints, emergencies or unusual situations.
7. Practices excellent telephone etiquette (smile in voice) at all times. Remains alert, courteous and helpful to guests at all times.
8. Forwards all lost and found items to Security. Packages items to be mailed. Maintains log of such items.
9. Updates and monitors daily payroll reports, ensures accuracy of punches and employees working.
10. Maintains accurate absentee log for all housekeeping employees.
11. Places rooms out of order when necessary with approval from Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager.
12. Conducts daily pre-shift meetings with housekeeping staff, communicates daily needs, special projects and forecasts room turnover.
13. Supervises night attendant’s duties and completes work assignments.
14. Performs other related duties capable of being performed as requested by Management.
