What are we looking for?

We are looking for a seasonal rooftop bartender to join our great team member for the summer of 2024. A seasoned bartender to lead and drive a few things that are critical to the success of rooftop operations, creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, upholding quality standards, and ensuring uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. In addition, we look for the demonstration of the following key attributes: Quality, Productivity, Dependability, Customer Focus, Adaptability.

What will I be doing?

For weary travelers, you’re more than a bartender. You are the ambassador for the hotel. You will be preparing drinks, taking orders, and serving plates of delicious meals. Your friendly face combined with your food and beverage expertise, and your knowledge of the city gives our guests an unforgettable experience at the end of their long flight or a stressful day.

Reporting to: Food & Beverage Director and Executive Chef

What are my essential job functions?

The Rooftop Bartender provides customers with a high-quality dining experience by performing a variety of duties such as:

  • Greet guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Mix and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.
  • Present and serve beverages to guests.
  • Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and regulations.
  • Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers.
  • Stock and maintain the bar to include, but not limited to, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
  • Cut, store and ensure product quality of all beverage-related perishables.
  • Respond professionally to inebriated guests, as needed.
  • Consistently follow proper protocols for handling and managing guests.
  • Maintain stock, supplies and cleanliness of bar and equipment.
  • Set up bar and bar area according to outlet’s standards.
  • Know all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes.
  • Participate in updated training for food, beverage, and service.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cooking orders, and product availability.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
  • Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 60 pounds without assistance.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors and/or Managers.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • 2 year(s) experience as a Bartender in a fast paced, high volume establishment
  • Must possess or be able to posses TIPS certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have proficient command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Provide outstanding memorable customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Knowledgeable of credit card and cash handling procedures, as well as recording accurate tip-out sheets, and calculating accurate bill amounts.
