Our private club includes state-of-the-art athletic and spa facilities, award-winning restaurants, bars, luxury meeting rooms, special event rooms, hotel rooms, and an array of social, business, and athletic events.

Come join our team! We have immediate openings for experienced individuals to fill the position of a Part Time Room Attendant.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position contributes to the success of Los Angeles Athletic Club (“Company”) by creating positive experiences for every member and guest who visits the club by ensuring all hotel guest rooms are impeccably clean and set up per the Los Angeles Athletic Club standard at the time of the guest’s arrival.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and Maintain Guest Rooms
    • Clear checked-out rooms of all traces of previous guests.
    • Clean bathroom, floors, furniture, and fixtures of all rooms assigned.
    • Re-stock all amenities as directed.
    • Replace all used towels and linens with fresh clean towels and linens.
    • Maintain pacing and timeliness to complete assignments on time.
    • Adapt to changing assignments as directed by manager.
    • Report and turn in all lost and found items to the manager on the same day.
    • Follow proper cleaning protocols to ensure rooms are safe and clean for the next guest.
  • Communicate and collaborate with hotel team and other Club departments
    • Report maintenance concerns to manager/Engineer.
    • Keep assignment sheets up to date and organized.
    • Adapt to needs of the Club by following directions on changes to procedures, scheduling, and room assignments.
    • Update manager on status throughout the workday as rooms are ready or guests request changes.
    • Check in with the manager for updates to assignments or Front Desk for updates on room status.
    • Be open and receptive to feedback and coaching and apply it as directed.
    • Attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
  • Use correct Safety and Security protocols
    • Communicate with guests respecting their privacy and security of their belongings.
    • Use proper privacy etiquette and security protocols when using housekeeping keys to access rooms.
    • Follow department protocols to report hazards and safety concerns.
    • Follow personal protective equipment guidelines to ensure it is being used correctly.
    • Be alert and aware of your surroundings at all times
    • Use proper techniques for cleaning rooms as trained by manager.
    • Read and be familiar with all chemicals and equipment used and what to do in case of emergency.
    • Participate in and be familiar with emergency drills and evacuation procedures.
  • Deep Cleaning
    • Coordinate with manager to prepare rooms for deep cleaning and special projects (cleaning curtains, cleaning upholstery, carpet shampooing, etc.).
    • Thoroughly inspect mattresses to ensure there is no damage, no insects, and are not soiled.
    • Have furniture moved as needed to clean and inspect all corners and difficult to reach areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the Club
    • Assist in keeping cart, associate areas, and storage areas clean and organized; keep hotel floor hallways free of carts and other housekeeping items as much as possible.
    • Be alert and aware of areas in the Club that need attention and inform manager

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Ideal: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in same or similar positions in the Hospitality industry
  • Ideal: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: At least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Required: Reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Required: Excellent time-management skills; prioritizing and completing assigned job tasks effectively.
  • Ideal: Bi-lingual oral, speech, and writing skills in English and Spanish or other language is an asset in this position
  • Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ideal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey message clearly and compose correspondence with correct and proper grammar.
  • Required: Capable of working effectively independently with minimal supervision
  • Required: High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Required: Strong organizational skills
  • Required: Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently meet deadlines and produce work in a timely manner.
  • Required: Ability to elicit and accept constructive feedback.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, DEMANDS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Exertion

  • Heavy: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects (for example housekeeping cart with supplies, linen cart, and small hotel room furniture).

Pay: Hourly $23.50 USD
