Description

This position is responsible for the promotion and selling of the hotel’s conference, event, and bedroom inventory. This will be achieved through sound lead allocation, effective qualifying throughout the initial enquiry, delivery of comprehensive, accurate and customised proposals, and strong negotiation skills, whilst maintaining and supporting the customer relationship for the hotel. The position will consistently strive to develop strong relationships with new and existing clients, in order to increase overall revenue, drive lead generation, and support the Hilton Sydney as a market leader in groups, conference, and events.

An Event Sales Manager with Hilton Sydney will maximise revenue opportunities in all areas of conferences and events by aiding with sales leads and conversion, and further developing relationships and customer loyalty. This position is a key support for delivering heartfelt exceptional experiences to our guests and is responsible for the largest events held at the hotel.

What will I be doing?

As Event Sales Manager, you will be working within the Sales team to respond to enquiries, convert business, and maximising revenue. Each day will be different, with the following tasks being performed to the highest standards:

  • Receive and convert incoming enquiries to achieve targets and maximise revenue
  • Seek opportunities to increase sales and conversions within the Team
  • Focus on a consistently executed up-selling approach
  • Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs
  • Arrange and carry out Hotel site inspections and entertaining
  • Ensure the complete administration and execution of all planned events
  • Responsible for the largest events held at the hotel
  • Participate in hotel promotional activities

Requirements

What are we looking for?

An Event Sales Manager at Hilton Sydney is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Experience with events and exhibitions of 300 pax
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Confident and professional telephone manner
  • High level of IT skills Delphi FDC preferred
  • Excellent grooming standards

 It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Demonstrated 2 years previous experience working in a Conference & Events Sales role
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems
