Iconic 587-room Hilton Sydney is located steps from Town Hall station and the QVB Light Rail stop and amongst our operations we are home to one of the largest Conferencing and Event spaces in the city, chefs hatted restaurant glass brasserie, Zeta Bar and heritage listed Marble Bar. As the Venues Sales Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all reservations and functions/events in Marble Bar, Zeta Bar, and glass brasserie. Your role will be to promote, sell and control the events for all event operating outlet teams from initial enquiry to contracting. Be able to efficiently qualify and sell the Hotel for events in our outlet spaces. Build up powerful customer relationships that deliver new and repeat business to increase revenue and demand. You will be responsible for maximising revenue and creating a memorable guest experience by ensuring our guests receive seamless service from the moment an enquiry is made.

What will I be doing?
  • To handle all incoming events leads professionally through all channels, maximising conversion of leads and bookings
  • Conduct informative site inspections and menu tastings with organisers and contractors
  • To build relationships with clients and develop an understanding of their needs and requirements and provide solutions to match in order for a successful event
  • To liaise, support and effectively communicate organisers on site requirements to the operations teams
  • To ensure successful events
  • To respond to and secure all reservation enquires through all channels e.g. by phone and or online channels
  • Be proficient with the telephone & reservation system and be able to assist guests making a reservation
  • Communicate important information regarding the hotel and surrounding areas to guests in a polite and friendly manner, giving accurate information
  • Demonstrate exemplary menu & product knowledge and to keep up to date with industry trends and developments
  • Liaise with the marketing team to drive marketing plans to promote glass Brasserie, Marble Bar and Zeta Bar
  • Complete restaurant and bar floor plans as necessary
  • Ensure all closures dates and book outs are entered into Open Table
  • Maintain and update Open Table as necessary for glass brasserie, Marble Bar, and Zeta Bar
  • To handle all incoming events leads professionally through all channels, maximizing conversion of leads and bookings. Enquiries to be responded to within 3 hours and proposal to clients with 24 hours of proposal receipt, in accordance to Hilton best practice
  • Ensure function packages, event order templates are kept up to date
  • Issue weekly event orders making sure allergies, special requests and event set up is included.
  • Prepare event orders in a timely manner, in accordance with operations rostering and to a high level of detail and accuracy
  • Liaise with the Event Services Billing Coordinator to ensure all invoices are settled promptly
  • To assist in training new and junior team members
  • Offer service to guests with a sales attitude that will assist with the maximisation of revenue
